Hi, guys I just wanna know your opinion in case you purchase some expired domain.

Domain rating is the ratio of Ahref tool
Domain Authority is the ratio of MOZ tool

I see. Can you explain to me what Domain Authority and Domain rating is in simple terms?

I would love to know. :)

Domain Rating(MOZ) and Domain Authority(Ahref) is a metric tool that measures how powerful this site can rank in a search result.

I see. Was the domain active in the past and has a ton of back links to it? Or are you starting from a blank slate?

My opinion is Domain Rating, Referring Domain and Backlink History (Ahrefs)

Thanks, should I check the backlink data? Some expired domain had a spam backlink data and the domain rating is high.

You need to be carefully in both metrics, both can be manipulated. In same cases if you have lets say a hig DR coming from just few backlinks means those backlinks are powerful, same goes for DA, but if you have some high UR DR on a domain with shit ton of backlinks coming from just few referrer domains there is a red flag.

thats what i am looking for now a saw that DR can be manipulated because of massive spam backlinks. But does the MOZ DA has a manipulation also?

Domain Authority by Moz is a bit more refined. Ahref's is all over the place.

Both terms calculated with almost the same algorithm but operated by a different organisation

Domain Authority = MOZ
Domain Rating = ahref

Both mentioned "metrics" are on domain level.
Both use old version of PageRank

Google use NEW PageRank and valuate each single page at url level.
So there is without any sense to compare sites by DR or DA.

And this is why, much more than 90% of SEO's is not able to predict real site power for any given keyword.

Cheers, Greg.

If there's no sense, why link building still exist?

The only nonsense here is DA and DR which Google not use,
especially when CEOs of both companies giving advice to compare competitors in this way - what is absolutely nonsense.

But it's easy to everyone, even completely fool can compare DA or DR, what mean more $$ for those companies.
And this is the reply for question "WHY"

Cheers, Greg.

None, If these ranks or rating is not from Google it self, you cant trust them. I use TF just to get the idea of the link profile.

This.
I always take DA & DR with a grain of salt.

It mean you know what you doing :)
Because Majestic trust is pretty similar to Google trust.

In reality, this "TRUST" it's the only one difference between OLD and NEW PageRank patent.
This "trust" was enough good, to destroy at least 90% of fake sites.

Old PageRank is implemented in Moz PA/DA, Ahrefs UR/DR, Majestic CF.
But Trust contain ONLY Majestic TF + TTF as topic distance (also used by Google).

This is why, TF/CF have great sense.
Sites with shit backlinks have pretty low TF.

Moz and Ahrefs fans don't see this one of most important metric.

Also dividing DA/PA it's without any sense - it's like dividing whole site power by single page power.
Anyway, in past some idiot say, that is correct - as the result all people who heard it repeating it until today.

So, with 100 RD without trust - NEW PageRank is equal 0, where PA,DA,UR,DR,CF will show great value.
With same 100 RD which having trust = NEW PageRank have good value - what mean great power for ranking and outgoing link.

Cheers, Greg.
