Earlier there was an option to change the theme to white color. If I was a mod, I would have bring it back.

Changing usernames isn't going to benefit the forum in any way IMO.

I'd make the following changes immediately after taking charge as an admin 
1. make the navigation between different sub-forums easy
2. enable users to add favorite sub-forums.
3. Enable customizing their homepage to see updates only from the favorite sub-forums, instead of seeing all the trolls
from lounge, journey threads and not-so interesting topics.
4. Add a dynamic notification bar & pop-up a small message when there are new posts in subscribed threads.
5. Categorize BST threads based on nature of the product or services into appropriate section.

Show in a banned members profile if it is a temporary or permanent ban, maybe even show a ban lift date. Also according to the mods discretion state what the ban was for. This might give other members something to look out for if its someone that makes an honest mistake or is consistently spamming the forum.
Also will ease some minds if you are doing a JV with someone, or they owe you money, or a service, or whatever.

A chat would be nice, but in all honesty if I were an admin I would NOT enable any type of chat feature as they really do negatively effect overall site content.
I'd much rather have a large searchable database packed full of helpful threads and posts then I would an active chat group.
As far as monetization goes, I'd consider a weekly pm with super special BST offers that goes out to all users. Those that wish to publish their offer in the pm would have to pay a nice premium as well as provide a unique offer for the member base.

A improvement on the search feature would help a lot. I'm not sure if it's me that doesn't understand how the search feature is used properly, but sometimes when searching for something quite broad you're still left wading through irrelevant posts to find what you're looking for.
For instance; if I was to search for 'open site explorer' I'd be left with thousands of posts that contain the word 'site' alone.
It could be that it's just me that's using it incorrectly. If someone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

Make sure you're searching a specific content type and and date range and you'll narrow the results. Most often limiting the search to title only will yield more relevant results.

1. Make a newbie section that people have to show they know how to use the search button and contribute a few decent threads within three months. If they do it they get through to see the rest of the forums, if they don't they sit there for eternity.
2. Have a three strikes and you are out on anything outside of the Shit List. For example minor fuck ups like the asking a question that has been answered thousands of times before and easily found on a search gets you a slap. 3 slaps and you go back to the newbie pool. Makes the content less diluted and full of the same friggin questions!

- Make the JV safer to use
- To create a topic user must provide valid information including personal information
- Users that join any JV's should provide valid information including personal information
- A mod to evaluate each JV
- Organize more the forums and their topics
- Motive the users to a more participative sharing on questions and answer, merge duplicate questions
- A create new topic plugin that will recommend related questions to the user prior to him openning a new thread
- Separate guides/tutorials form actual questions
- A guide for each IM term so new comers know what is what
- Link the terms guide to the actual keywords so when the hover over the text it shows what it means

BHW Academy
I would implement a BHW Academy that would be a closed paid area, the Academy would offer a raft of learning platforms - SEO - Website Building - Content Compilation et al etc etc...
Why do I say this because almost endlessly a steady stream of threads are posted where the OP
asks I do not know how to build - Membership Sites - CPA - PPC etc...
Now I am fully aware that all this info and more is already in BHW and more but some people seem to have permanent difficulty in using search and do not know how to learn about IM.
I am not talking about the ‘Spoon Feed Brigade' they are basket cases almost beyond help! I am talking about people who genuinely want to learn about IM and are prepared to pay to get that knowledge!
The way it could be set up and implemented is work out a simple PL forecast charging $X USD for each monthly tuition courses in the BHW Academy, then to provide the tutors for the courses (pay some members to work in the Academy) that way it can work and provide a very beneficial service unique to BHW. Plus of course there is an ongoing upside for BHW namely that the site has another revenue generating avenue that turns a profit!
Would it Work?
Of course if it was not rushed into and set up properly with a genuine tuition service where the paying customers get what they paid for and maybe even a BHW Academy Certificate if that is what they are after completing for example an SEO course and feel that a certificate would add after course completion kudos et al...
On and on it goes but I see a vast array of positives, wherein the BHW Academy once established would open up new as yet unknown targeted areas of developing trends in the IM vertical market!
There is much more to be considered overall before the BHW Academy could go live but the above is something that should at least generate ‘Food for Thought!'
