In response to the negative statements about the Mods of BHW, I will say this:
1) For those of you who think this is a "Glory Gig", you are mistaken.
It requires hours of work on a daily basis and tons of responsibility
for which we receive no compensation whatsoever.
2) If you think that the Mods are some kind of "good old boys"
club where we can operate however we wish, you are mistaken.
In fact, we must adhere to MUCH stricter guidelines than the
rest of the members. We make decisions every day that can
affect the lives and livelihood of other members, and if we
mess up, we have to answer to an Administrator . . . and if
we mess up too often, we are subject to being demoted.
Granted, we are not perfect, but I can honestly say from
looking at other internet marketing forums that we have
the most fair, well-conducted, and efficiently moderated
forum of ANY of them.
3) We show NO FAVORITISM to ANYONE on BHW. The playing
field is level, and if we DID show favoritism to some "select
few", we would soon lose our position as a staff member.
I have many friends on BHW, but I can say with certainty
that most of them are aware that I separate our friendship
from my job as a Mod.
Being a Mod on BHW is not an easy job and that is why
there are so few of us. The subtle details, requirements,
restrictions, and code of conduct would take FOUR threads
to list them all.
To sum it up, we (the staff) sincerely care about BHW and
ALL of the members. We do our best to help make BHW a
great experience and a great forum. There are lots of
members here who appreciate what we do, and some
who don't, but that is how it goes when one is in a
position of authority.
Cheers! - "Wiz"
