What would you do as an admin here at BHW?

Some of the moderators needs to mellow down a bit. In my personal opinion with the powers of moderator comes great responsibility. In my little experience here at BHW, I had come across moderators who are arrogant and misuse their position as moderator.

So I would like Moderators to have a more practical, rational and objective approach towards members of this community and not threaten members with the powers they possess.

No Mods are arrogant here, unless you interfere in their Job.

Thanks for asking...

I would create a Revision2 or the Email Marketing section and put it in the General Forms and set restrictions on it. You can post unless your account is 1 month old, 30 comments, and have been thanked by 5 people.

Let people dispute their infractions.

A chat window would be cool for those of us that hang out on here but do not want to create a thread for each topic that crosses our mind.

Clean up the Sticky treads and make sure only topics that are still relevant are showing.

Create a Getting Started section. Not sure if people can post into this section of it the mods would just flag a really good basic post so that it also appears in that section.

Make the Free Money button in the JR VIP larger bright yellow. The dark gray blends in with the black background and many will not see it and thus lose out on free money.

Feature a Member of the Month. Do this to build community.

That's all I have for the moment.

Thanks again for asking.

Its Not True Lol.

First we need to know, that they have their own business. They spend their valuable time here to keep this community neat and clean. If they spend the same time in their business they can earn more.

So Please Dont Blame Mods/Staff Members.

Separate section for Newbies Minimum for one or two months

Well I was not being delusional and was speaking from personal experience.

1) Move to a much more advanced forum platform like Invision which has a lot more cool features than vBulletin.

2) Make the whole forum mobile compatible (If planning to use vBulletin, they have a mobile version already out)

3) Kick out all the scammers and monitor the BST section to make sure the standard of sellers are top notch. Also, make sure that we don't have crappy buyers. Some kind of verified Payment gateway would be awesome.

4) Server and forum stability with no downtime.

5) Often run legit competition to keep the forum more active.

6) Newbies can't open up a thread unless they have over 50 posts (Tired of all those crappy threads started by them)

This one will be awesome:
Make a new section for Matt Cutts as he already haunts the forum like a google ghost :P

A language test for newbies. If you are using Google Translate to participate / can't express yourself in English, you should not be allowed in BHW.

I couldn't care less about someone's English or country as long as they are respectful to others and contribute to the community to make it a better place for marketers.

On the other hand, I don't care if you are a friggin' poet if you're just another arrogant guy who thinks he is superior to others because his 'engrish' is better.

The only thing that matters is your business ethics, your attitude towards other members and most important of all... how good of a HUMAN BEING you are. Knowing a particular language or being from a particular country doesn't necessarily make you a superior human being.

Do something to improve the usefulness of the site. From when I joined to now the amount of useful/interesting/insightful threads has gone down, while the number of 'journals', 'self promotion', 'buy my product', etc... has gone up. The quality of posts has taken a dive, I went from visiting this site every single day of the week to now visiting maybe 2-3 times per month.

Change the theme from yellow on black to black on white text :) readability improves conversion and provide
for a better flow posting.

#1 issue we have right now about BST (very messy) is the lack of categories assigned to the seller's own BST thread.

BHW needs to add the well-defined categories to be assigned to all Services for sales threads. This way, we would be able to dive into the specific sales thread, such as SEO services, article writing services, social services, etc.

Note: I posted it in Forums Suggestions nearly 2 years ago.

I would change the dropshipping and wholesale hookups forum to be moderated like the JV's

Sort out the search function, I dont even bother using bhw search i use google and "site:blackhatworld.com search term"

Although this is black hat world. it is hardly black hat anymore, I would bring back the email marketing section, I would bring back the ewhoring section, the cookie stuffing section and create a click jacking section.

Troublesome issue pestering BHW for a while now are low quality threads.
Members with under 5 posts open threads with attractive but mislabeled title.
We check them out expecting good content to discuss only to be presented with a dumb question answered in the past.
First action would be to sort this out. Possible solution for this may be short notification displayed on 'make a new thread/post page' for members with under 40 posts so thread can be labeled PROPERLY. This way members who want to avoid them CAN avoid them without looking inside first.

As for improvements here's my take on it,
BHW has a huge community base with thousands of active members. We, BHW, cover wide range of tasks we do share our experiences with others on a daily basis. This is good.
Bad part is how that knowledge is shared. The only way to share good knowledge is by making threads. Exposure is increased by making threads stickier or bumping them often. Most of us are busy doing our stuff and often miss threads we would otherwise love to read if only we knew about them.

Become BLACK HAT media! News for blackhatters;
Consider using newsletters system built into vbulletin to send out weekly pm's and emails informing us of such quality discussion taking place.
Weekly pm/email blast to entire community listing 5 of best threads that week covering different topics. Include an explanation for each link with few sentences of what these threads are about. This would get a lot of people involved.
This way majority of the community will be instantly attracted

I would ban some users also I will stop people that are sellling services here.
They are spaming this forum .!

Honestly, considering some of the things I have witnessed, I wouldn't want to be a Mod here, or any forum for that matter.
Too much favoritism involved and my values would not allow me to be part of that.

However, it would be nice to be able to know where your "thanks" came from.
Its kind of nice to know who thanked what post.

Forgive my ignorance if there is a way to find it other then scan through all your recent posts, :P

+1

To be in authority position comes with the responsibility to set outstanding examples that go way beyond the norm.
If a mod can not do this, he shouldn't be in the position.

Mods should be of those who have the time and knowledge to do the job, and not picked just because they have proved themselves in the SEO area.
Being picked to be Mod should not be based on ones ability to code websites, or get them on googles first page.

But that is how they do it so life goes on.

Organized competitions within the BHW community like Gaming or Poker tournaments.

How about making an obligatory quiz for everyone who wants to join the forum before he/she can sign up? The Quiz should contain very basic IM/SEO Questions like:

1. What does SEO stand for?
a) Self Explained Organization
b) Sell Ether Online
c) Search Engine Optimization

2. What is SEM?

3. What is PPC/PPV/CPA...?

4. ...

Everyone who is able to answer such Questions will most likely never make a Thread / Post Questions like the ones you can find in the thread BHWs-stupidest-questions...

Cheers

I would create a marketplace,I mean where you can actually bid and sell different black hat stuff.
