I hear and see lots of people are using word press as their publishing platform, even for e-commerce. is it recommend to use develop a website for consulting company?

Considering the already 1 decade old past record, I think Wordpress would be a viable choice amongst other. WP during its infancy stage had other competitors like Joomla, then Drupal, and a lot of other tiny CMS that has since seized to exist.
Joomla is another good choice, and they have reworked their framework to resemble WP's, for instance you can find a lot of plugins, etc available for Joomla as well.
Joomla and WP both have its pros and cons, and depending on your management style you can make a choice between both. But WP is definitely mainstream, and it has been like that for the past 10 years & more.

Wordpress is the most common choice since it's pretty easy to use and it has a lot of available plugins.

If you keep everything updated and take basic security measures, then WP won't be a problem.

You can try jhoomla
But wordpress is the best

My vote goes for WordPress as its SEO power lies in its multiple plugins to boost SEO score. You have quite a rich choice in downloading those plugins. For instance, Yoast SEO plugin is the most powerful and popular among others. But it’s not the only one. SEOquake, LinkPatro, All In One SEO Pack and many others.

10000000% wordpress dont touch anything else

Wordpress is great but.. if it your first one, wix is a drag and drop friendly and easy for anyone..
SEO is not so good with wix compare to WP

My vote is for typo3. So few people use it (most lye German internet dinosaurs) so it must be hack proof.

Same argument I heard 15 years ago about Novell crapware

Wordpress is great for beginners. Just go and make your website SEO eventually happens with time.

WordPress every time. Joomla gets weird updates where you sometimes can't do it automatically anymore, but need to re-install manually. LOL wat?!... Then if you don't update anymore, it gets hacked. Also Drupal is bad IMO, gets hacked easily.

I am using wordpress and this is the best. You can just use some plugins to do SEO for your website easily.
