What file host & plan are you using for social network site?

Even though I don't understand alot about hosting and even php I've been researching for a month straight or longer and teaching myself as much as I can. Google does work miracles but in this case I'd like to ask and see what pp here on BHW are using to host there own social network site. Such as php fox ( that I think I wanna roll with), buddypress, bb, so on.. If i know as of which hosting some of you are using then I would know directly that hosting would have the requirements to host such site and I'd like see what plans for that hosting you guys are using and why?

It actually depends on requirement of website for eg a small forum with 10000 members can even run fine over VPS server but on the other hand a forum like having 500,000 members needs its own high end setup of web hosting or may be perhaps cloud hosting.

So the which type of web hosting will be required it all depends on is application new, if not new then are you hosted it somewhere else and facing any problem if this is the case what hardware configuration are you using right now and then accordingly think for upgrade if you are already hosted somewhere.

thanks for your 2 cents i currently don't have any hosting for a site yet but i do have a cheap share hosting i basiclly got to play around with and learn from.. I'd still like to hear others input if you run a site and around how many members and what hosting plan and site you use, if others don't mind sharing or anyother advice or input would also be appreciated also
