[WARNING] Maxbounty - Dont send them black traffic

I still dont see an answer from Steve on if Maxbounty were paid anything for these leads?

With all due respect, I really don't see where that is an issue. It's the network that runs the biggest risk of a huge lawsuit when their affiliates break a sites T.O.S., and it's the network that must front the huge legal bills associated with the lawsuit. They don't go back to the affiliates and ask for retroactive pay on all the dirty traffic they sent. They ban the account and move on.

I have an account with MB but am currently not sending any traffic for the simple fact that offers are converting better with other networks. I've never had any problems being paid for the traffic I've sent them in the past.

That should be a massive big red flag for you. :-)

Advertisers *can* shave entire networks, but that generally only happens with small networks that have a lot of very low quality traffic. For a bigger network like MB I would be extremely surprised if advertisers were shaving them due to network-wide low quality leads.

I think your view is valid, and I'm sure Steve will take this angle also. However, sometimes the powers that be do chase affiliates - its rare but it happens. Sometimes networks do retroactively modify your earnings, and impose a negative balance, or subtract from outstanding leads. Indeed some networks adopt a 'you'll get paid if I get paid role', which IMO is pretty fair.

However if this were a case of an advertiser asking simply to stop this affiliates traffic due to quality or other reasons, and MB still got paid - thats everyone gaining some benefit apart from the affiliate. So while I totally agree that the terms and conditions were breached, and while I'm all about making the chain between affiliate and advertiser stronger with transparency - imo pocketing the rewards from 'fraud' doesn't make you look like a standup person - which is why I'm curious.

I suspect that MB probably didn't get paid, and this is more the case of an advertiser taking all the reward at the expense of both MB and the OP. Then again, I'm only guessing.

If you are serious about fraudulent traffic, why wouldn't your AMs and compliance department work together?

I mean if your AM clearly can see fruad happening he doesn't report it? That is what your saying(maxsteve). Or your saying he does but he picks and chooses who to report at his will. If that is the case then there is some kind of guideline for this. It seems rather funny op said he didn't blank ref at all. Yet the whole time he gets emails saying good job.

maxbounty did this to me last month ass well
got emails saying send more traffic then next day
your account has been terminated
go fuck yourself maxbounty steve
your company is going down

It's the only cpa company that has ever banned me and I'm not even doing remotely BH stuff

Sorry to hear that...
Can you post emails/proof about this ?

They are a large enough network that you should be able to contact them by phone. Like someone said above, go to affpaying with all of the details you submitted here. Then request for people on BHX or your friends to make a comment about it. The affiliate industry is so competitive that with enough interest in the top, they would be force to get in contact with you.

Might be a good idea to pay the op, at least from a PR point of view. BHW threads do go viral, and I'm seeing BHW threads on the 1st page of G.

dang that maxbounty's one messed up cpa company, I'm glad they rejected me :)

This will be my last post in this thread. The thread is currently spinning in circles. People are commenting without reading the entire thread, or commenting after misreading both the OP's and my points. There really isn't any new information to add to the thread - and I certainly have nothing futher to add after this post.

When AM's see fraud, they report it to our compliance department immediately for further investigation. However, when an affiliate is using redirects to hide where there traffic is coming from, AM's cannot see the fraud. In the specific case that raised this thread, the affiliate was redirecting Instagram comment spam through one of his own domains to hide the true source of the traffic. The AM did NOT know the traffic was coming from Instagram and we only caught the pub when we investigated a user complaint.

Affiliate payments cease as soon as they are terminated. This isn't a policy that is exclusive to MaxBounty, but is in place with all networks. This isn't even something we hide - it's laid out clearly in our terms. Sometimes an affiliate's balance is positive, sometimes an affiliate's balance is negative. Sometimes an advertiser will pay for some of the leads, sometimes an advertiser will pay for none of the leads. In the long run, it balances out and does NOT represent a profit for us (in fact, it's typically more of a loss). While some will still think it's a crappy policy, please understand that a change to this policy would mean that we would be forced to either litigate or send collection agencies after any affiliate who was paid out, terminated and for which we were subsequently not paid. Does anyone really want that?

Any network that knowingly allows their affiliates to violate terms and conditions or worse, encourages it, because "everyone's making the monies" will quickly find out that is a very short sighted approach to running a network. They'll either find themselves on the wrong end of a lawsuit, or will find themselves insolvent when enough merchants decide they aren't paying for this kind of traffic. The affiliate marketing landscape is littered with failed CPA networks who thought they'd make a quick buck by operating with an "anything goes" policy.

As I've said before, I don't blame people for getting upset when their accounts are terminated. It's a natural reaction to bad news. I do find it a bit odd that the same people who BREAK the rules that are CLEARLY laid out by us will come out and claim that we are the ones who are cheating.

There you go folks, two differing opinions, but ultimately terms and conditions were broken. Its the risk any one who runs unapproved traffic faces, get caught, and you can loose your earnings.

I'm gonna lock this thread now, as its boring to read the rants without having the other side take part. If you wish to run outside of the acceptable terms, probably MaxBounty isn't the place for you. Personally I find them fine for clean approved traffic. Be clear tho, you run this risk of loss on ANY network.

edit: changed thread title - as tbh it should be clear that this can happen when using some of the methods on this board.

Update to the thread:
I want to add something, today I investigated more and I got in touch with the mother company of the offer i was promoting with maxbounty. I was promoting an offer for this mother company and I mentioned that other offer I was promoting for maxbounty, and she told me they own that offer as well. ( it happened by coincident )
Well the point is I gave her my aff id on maxbounty to check the quality of the leads I sent, because I told her I will send similar traffic, she said the leads were good quality and converted well for them, then I asked her whether maxbounty got paid she said yea, maxbounty was paid for my leads.

Now, what maxbounty did was not only they banned me when I said I will wait for payday, but also they WERE PAID for my leads and didn't send me that amount.

Yea I understand I broke their TOS or whatever, but they were paid for my leads which were good for the advertiser, and it is my right to get paid for them AND then it is their right to terminate my account.

What do you think ?

Steve is gonna regret this. This thread will be forever on this forum and when ppl search maxbounty they'll come across it. To save $6k and a Big Ego he's so short-sighted to tarnish his company's reputation in such a way and also losing dozens of $$thousands$$ in years to come from discouraged affiliates who come across the thread when searching for maxbounty here. I'd have tremendous respect for mb if he had come clean apologizing and paying the op his cash but we all know this aint gonna happen. He'll pay for it and he'll learn the hard way how to conduct himself in business.

Make SURE to contact that company and inform them that MB owes them their money back.

You need to tell the company that you don't get the money that they have paid!
Then it's up to MaxBounty to explain their customer why they are cheating them... The money is for you, not for MaxBounty.

I hope this gets to the top of Google for any MB search results. Make sure you post on Affpaying.com with a link to this thread so that in the future anyone considering sending traffic to MB will know not to do so. What a bunch of crooks. Let's see if Steve Sauve can come explain this away.
