Not sure if this helps any, but I have uploaded a YouTube video for a potential client to show them that I can rank their site as a case study, but also created a squidoo lens embedding the YouTube video.
I then blasted the YouTube video with a fiverr gig to get it to page 1 of G.
The squidoo lens I did no backlinks too, just standard SEO work which it initially indexed on G at page 14.
Over the course of getting the YouTube video ranked to page 1, the squidoo lens then ranked paged 2 spot 1.
I am saying yes, the video gives some kind of juice to the sites if you focus on them but I'm not sure how this would do on non web 2.0 sites.
Just my 2 centz

Are their any youtube pro's out there that can create some good industry focused videos?
Video is a part of your SEO strategy. I know its the last part.when you think that you have done everything then you should think about Video. For me Its a good way to popularize your website. People search for a video about anything rather than reading an article. That's why video is cool.
Anyone?!?!!
Who's the Youtube video professional out there?
What I'm interested to know is if there is text in the video, can that be read by the search engines? And how else can the videos get indexed?
Links to your site especially from authority sites are going to help improve your ranking. The question is how much. 1 video with a link probably isn't going to do a whole lot. What you should focus on is branching out to all video sites and other methods to gain links.
One of the things I do after I create a video is I try to rank the video in search (not youtube). If the video and my site are targeting the same keywords I typically see an increase in rankings for my site as my video goes up in ranking.
One time I had 7 of 10 spots on the first page for a kw I was targeting from web 2.0s, a youtube video, and my site. All roads leading to me.
are those super low competition keywords? xD 7/10, too impressive!Links to your site especially from authority sites are going to help improve your ranking.
