The most intelligent and coherent argument in this thread.

Lol, not at all intelligent, not at all coherent, and doesnt really give any real answers. I am sure with the right spices you would taste good too...

You are still worried about my thinking and trying to make me understand your point of view. I am sure you wouldnt like anyone, human or animal killing you or anyone else you love. Its something that you would disslike. Now that part of the question being complete, why do you think its ok to do it to others since if you dont like it to be done to you? I am curious to see your reasoning behind just that one question. So please explain why its ok to do it to others if you dont like it being done to you

I explained it alot of times already now... Want to hear the dirty truth?

Cause I am on top of the chain.

Nothing more to add really...The only thing you try here is to trap me into your: "answer this how I want you to answer it or I will start calling you cruel and heartless etc." question. This is Black Rhetoric at is finest... Luckily I have my share of experience on that topic.

To those that say you need meat to be strong and fit I give you exhibit A. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...vegan-diet-not-an-issue-to-team-nutritionist/

Arian Foster (Arguably) the best running back in the NFL right now is a Vegan and a lot more football players are Vegans now. So that's a pretty dumb statement.

I personally eat meat but have learned a lot more about the benefits of cutting out meat for health benefits and could see myself doing it. If I did become a Vegetarian I would never push it on anyone else or degrade them because I all of the sudden "saw the light".

Either way I think it's about a balance and eating LIVE foods, I think the worse thing for people is the dead processed food out there. I even thought of going to a raw diet because I have diabetes and know someone that cured their type 2 with raw veggies, fruits and nuts. But just too hard to go raw for me at the moment.

I do think there is an automatic gut feeling of anger towards vegetarians and vegans that I grew up with in my family. That they're all weird hippies that think they're above everyone else. But since moving to an area where there a lot I disagree and think they do it for their health and for compassion of animals which I see nothing wrong with.

Hi ... I totally agree with ethical vegetarianism. Once you learn about the horrific lives and end of lives of animals raised for slaughter, you might change your tune. Cows and pigs definitely know what's about to happen; their terror is unjustified when so many alternatives exist. Chickens spend their lives in the tiniest confines you can imagine. If you must eat meat or poultry, stick to free range. Yes, you're right, I said nothing about fish. dgp

I'm not arguing with your post, except for the first part where you linked an article about Arian Foster. That's all find and dandy, but that's 1 guy. I can link you to 1,000 other athletes with meat in their diet. Better yet, I can link you to the vegetarian athletes, then just subtract that from every athlete in the world.

The question is silly - First of all you don't love all animals on the planet, you love the ones you know and care about (your dog). Ask him back, "if he loves people, why doesn't he work in Africa helping children?" :D

Then, it 's nature. If humans weren't supposed to eat meat, they 'd have the digestive system of a sheep.

I think the opposite. We have long intestine for a reason to digest vegetables and cooked starches, cats don't have long intestine and need meat to survive solely, They don't need vegetables cause they can't digest them and uptake the vital nutrient from plant kingdom. K9's are incredibly durable for the wild they unlike cats digest the nutrient from vegetables, they're our best friend for a reason. Then another meat eater standpoint would be, why do we have k9 teeth, my answer would be why do us males have nipples. I use to be a vegetarian it's not for the poor I did it very wrong my skin looked good but i depleted everything in my body eating no protein for 5 months I never got the veggie high from lack of zinc. But I felt like shit was hungry all the time. So as a former vegetarian and vegan for shorter time, and a friend I made was muslim and confirms most of the vegetarian spiritual philosophy of blood if it's not drained from the animal its bad to eat. Vegans well the spiritual ones beleive blood transfers energy fear hate anger to the eater. There is some similar correlation with your testosterone rising 500% when you eat minced beef. I wish soy wasn't the biggest protein alternative because it makes you feminine i avoid it at all cost in food soy lecithen. There is wheat texturized protein they use in some chilis I think it's called seitan if you don't have a wheat allergy that's a good source of protein. I see it 50/50 I need meat when i was without it it was good up until the 4th month it felt like my bodys glue was gone. I wish I had an answer I'm not rich and can eat different types of protein sources in a dayg other than chicken beef. Especially trying to gain muscle working out

No really, there are meat eating athletes?......Ya that wasn't my point if you read it. I said for the people saying you NEED meat to be ripped and have muscle are idiots. Of course they're mostly meat eating athletes, but obviously this Vegan is doing just fine with strength, muscle and stamina and they're a lot more like him.

So your on top of the food chain so it makes it ok to do something to someone else that you wouldnt want done to you? I dont think anyone killing you or your family or friends would be excusable to you. You would not like it no matter how much the person thought they were on top of the food chain. I actually expected you to give a better answer then that. I thought that you would tell the truth and say how you and the rest of us humans are hypocrites in many things we do.

You say you have a lot of experience in this topic, but i really dont see any at all. Your experience seems to make you not answer question at hand. Your experience seems to make you think discussion is a game to be won. This discussion should actually make you reflect more on how we treat others, especially when theres life and death at stake

I'm not taking sides here but primarily all humans are omnivores when they're born and so they decide whether to take meat or not. Secondly, for the vegetarians I think the idea of saying its not fair to eat animals isn't fair especially for people living in north & south poles where veggies are hard to find and rely mostly on fish which contains countless nutritional value. My question is what about carnivores that depend entirely on meat? Should they starve or have their diets changed so that everything can be equal? Since vegetarians love to eat plants even plants as someone mentioned are living things and should be treated fairy don't you think? In my opinion this is a food chain thing and the human being is on top of it...so no matter how you look at it, its contradictory and whether you choose to eat meat or become a vegetarian its totally up to you to decide and people's influences whether +ve or -ve shouldn't interfere.

Instead of explaining what makes it ok to kill sentient beings(such as animals, you and me, our kids and parents...)
first, you need to justify why the arbitrary line in the sand with "sentient beings". What you really mean here is "my perception of sentience in other animals". If it was a sentient plant, you would still eat it, because you have a bias against plants.

And since we're on the subject, because you defined your imaginary qualifier as "sentient beings", then you agree it's fine to eat oysters, because they are not sentient.

negative effects of eating meat
like becoming the apex predator for the majority of the earth's surface? in terms of evolution, that would be a positive effect of eating meat.

believe that it is healthy to eat meat
1.5 million years of your ancestors agree.

Where is your evidence of of the dangers of eating soy? or grains?

Why are there no vegan civilizations? Why are there no long-term vegan cultures? Why do vegan parents average lower birth weights than their contemporary counterparts? Why do vegans exhibit higher rates of mental illness? Why do vegans exhibit increases in tooth decay?

The number 1 reason why people quite veganism: HEALTH.

Do you know that every vegan who lived during the 20th century is now dead? must be those dangerous vegetables... And in fact, every single person that ate vegetables in the 20th century is dead! OMG!!!! those vegetables are killing us!

I dont think you know what your talking about. Or maybe this post was a joke or something. I can think of one thing that made sense here tbh.

Its a simple question, you dont want it done to you the same way they dont want it to be done to them. What give you the right to do something to others that you wouldnt like done to you and clearly they dont like being done to them. I dont need excuses, just your personal reason. Simple question, simple answer
