wow...i thought of making a point here. But the way people are going bonkers here, I say, screw it.

I was raised eating vegetables and rice (Indian diet). No meat was ever made at home, but I did have it outside of the home very rarely.

Now I have moved to a less carbs (no pasta / bread, only brown rice) and a higher meat diet (same amount of vegetables as before - a lot). I usually eat more fish and eggs rather than chicken or red meat.

There are advantages to every type of diet. You don't need meat to live and you don't need tons of complex carbs either. One of the best MMA fighters in the world eats no diary and no meat, but only vegetables and grains.

The only rule, in my opinion, is to make sure that you are spending the money to get organic, grass-fed, meat. It's more expensive, but think of it as investing in your future (less medical bills, more productive, less pain etc.)

I feel the same. Instead of tackling the issues raised, some one track minded people keep side tracking. Instead of explaining what makes it ok to kill sentient beings(such as animals, you and me, our kids and parents...) they want to justify there actions by comparing our morality to animals. And instead of seeing the negative effects of eating meat, they want to believe that it is healthy to eat meat as long as you eat enough fruit/vegetables and do enough exercise to make up for the negative effects of eating meat... But i am done commenting on this topic, i say it again for the last time

I agree with you that things have gone bonkers, but say what you need to say Bigman

IMO I try to eat as less meat as possible... but I tried going without meat for 2.5 years a couple of years back... Didn't turn out too well I guess... LOL. People should be free to choose what they want to eat. Trying to promote vegetarianism ain't gonna help anything.

you're absolutely right, this is democracy everyone has a right to have an opinion and no one can enforce their views on you. That's what I've been saying that you should experiment with vegetarianism and non-vegetarianism and choose what's right for you based on your "own experience" from both the lifestyles, not based on what some "pseudo-intellect" said or thinks
