I was wondering if this idea would work.
Just republish a bunch of articles from places like ezine and other article directories (leaving all links intact, of course) but for a specific subject, and target keywords that aren't very hard to rank for on a WP blog.
Yes, I know that the content wouldn't be fresh in the eyes of Google, but do you think it would count for anything that it's a site dedicated to informing the public on that subject exclusively? Are people doing this? For example, I'm wondering if there are blogs republishing content just on the subject of "dating", etc. Subjects which are very in demand, which have lots of associated affiliate products.
The point of having the site would be that in between every couple of posts or so, you could create a small post which is really an ad for another webpage with more info which would be on it's own site. The user clicks through to your site, and you can market your affiliate programs to them there.
All I'm wondering is if it's possible to rank a site easily this way.
