Udemy courses should have their own section

With so many members posting Udemy courses in the members download section wouldn't it be better to have a seperate section for Udemy. Today one was removed as it was claimed to be free but actually cost £70. This could easily be exploited to build mailing lists by some who put up their " free "course when you have to sign up to access it, allowing them to market to later. Websites are often removed when they have sign up forms on there but this is allowed and could easily be exploited.

Some numbers to complete OP's suggestion:

    26 out of the latest 40 = 26/40 = 65%
    37 out of the latest 60 = 37/60 = 61.66%
    49 out of the least 80 = 49/80 = 61.25%
    61 out of the latest 100 = 61/100 = 61%

What does this mean? Most of the threads posted in the download section are Udemy courses, which by the way, a good portion of them are not IM related, thing that is not allowed as stated on @blackhit's 'Member Downloads Rules' Thread:

Which by the way #2, they're not a download!

In my opinion, Udemy courses should be shared as 'Freebies', not as downloads.

On Thursday 2 identical udemy courses were listed in the download section with an hour of each other. There seems to some kind of competition at the moment. All sorts of courses. So easy to exploit this

Maybe also members have to state " you will need to enroll, so you'll be added to a list for marketing purposes"

I suggested this in May ( if you used the search facility :p:rolleyes::D ).

    https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/udemy-course-section.938397/

These are not ripped to download, as the only ones that people rip are bought and paid and this is not allowed here on BHW.

I share these for what they are, a free ( at time of posting ) learning resource.
Personally I don't have any affiliation with Udemy, I just share these courses, which are free when I post them.

If people would prefer me not to share then all it needs is someone to suggest me not to do so.

Obviously as part of the Udemy platform people need to enroll, otherwise how could you access the course ?
As for the mailing list part, yes it is the course builder who gets your email details, not the person sharing the course.

Use a spare / disposable email address for stuff such as this. Then you can always unsubscribe to their emails.

For those of you who have the capacity and time to rip, then upload to MediaFire, run a VT scan for a free course, I applaud you and invite you to do just that.

But as I say, if people don't want these courses sharing, feel free to comment to that effect.

I didn't say you were making commission s, just said they should have their own section and not in the download section. You seem to have taken this personally, it wasn't intended. Over the past week or so, there seems to be a lot of these being posted. This is very easy to exploit, I've seen a way to sell on bhw without paying fees, so others must have.
Also remember this is not just an open forum, but the rss feeds are used by blogs

member has been listing Udemy courses in quick succession and has had them removed. He declared " Not my course " but failed to realize the coupon code gave away the fact he was an affiliate. Who in their right mind has a coupon code called THENEWBAGHDAD. This member abused this by " finding " Udemy courses and adding them to the download section, he would have got away with it if he'd posted one now and again, the fact he was posting a course so frequently raised suspicions. There are two ways this can be exploited to sell on here, one is to add a " free "course with a voucher for an affiliate link.

Going forward, any Udemy course that is posted that is originally free, that turns into not free and is not removed by the original poster (or reported by the original poster for a staff member to remove), will cause the original poster to get warned for either selling outside the marketplace, spammed advertising or using affiliate links.

It is not right to expect the Staff to monitor those courses for when they go from promotional free to paid.

Well, I've shared a bunch also before and the thing with coupons is that you never know how many the owner has provided so when they are all used it goes back to the default price.

I think a course must at least be related to IM also.

On a sidenote, every paid course cost no more than $10 using a monthly coupon distributed by udemy:D

BTB this wasn't a reply on you, you posted just before me. :)

You do share relevant courses... the guy today shared a bunch of just random stuff and it was clear it was not with the intent of improving the forum but rather with the intent of improving his bank balance.

Either way, it is responsible for those that share to help keep the forum clean with what they share for when it goes from free to a sales thread.

Please don't get rid of the not IM related courses. Maybe just mark the post with [IM] [NOTIM] tags in the title so everyone can decide for themselves. Yea I'm a course hoarder, found it out today myself too. :D

Doesn't matter, this is an IM forum not a general forum, there would be too much spam.

If you are an course hoarder go find my post in the member downloads where I link to 2 coupon fb groups or search fb yourself and you can hoard all you want.;)

You want to go after everything thats not IM related and is posted on BHW? Good luck mate! ;)

Yeah, I could. Still don't understand why isolating the whole phenomenon to somewhere you can't see it would annoy you.

I'm all about education... I actually was going to be a teacher before they kicked me out of college for being more immature than a 5 year old.

I won't delete threads that are offering non-IM stuff usually but I will infract those that are no longer free and not removed by the original poster or are not requested to be moved by the original poster as those people are generally just taking advantage of the affiliate program offered by Udemy.

You guys are 100% right about that the download section is not the place for this. My apologies for not admitting this before. Thats why isolating the whole thing into a Courses section would be simple.

Yea I see the problem too. I just don't see anyone in the right mind paying for a Udemy course. Udacity? Yes. Udemy? Nope. Maybe that's why I take this more lightly, but of course rules are rules.
