Tumbrl Question Using AdSense

First I want to thank everyone on this site who has taken the time to make a post and help people with ideas. I am extremely motivated to see what I can do this year thanks to this site and it's great members. I never realized everything that is out there online and how there are endless ways to make money. Secondly, I'd like to ask for your forgiveness as I am sure this post will result in some angry replies directed at me. I am new to all of this and I want to LEARN. It is not my hopes to "get rich quick" as I know that isn't possible without first learning.

Now, with all that being said here is my question. I have an adSense account already and it is on one of my blogs. I have a niche that I picked out, although it isn't getting much traffic. I am thinking about taking a different route and moving to tumblr. I know of a niche that is extremely popular and has the potential to bring in hundreds of thousands of views a month. Would putting a few ads on that page from Adsense generate me any income?

I'm not exactly sure how Adsense works but would it gear ads towards my content? My content is geared towards younger females so I am hoping they would be more likely to click the ads, assuming it's related content. I am just curious what some of you vets think about this idea for a noob who wants to get my feet wet. Again, I am not hoping to make a ton of money out of the gate but I woud like to made a few bucks a day with the hopes of making a few hundred a week eventually.
