Traffic from FaceBook

Hi guys,

I'm creating this thread with a hope that some of you will help me out with my ongoing issue on Facebook. I own and operate a financial website. And, of course, I have accounts on all most famous social networks. The issue is that there is almost no traffic from social networks to my website and I don't know how to turn it into the right way. I post on Facebook every few hours. It's either my website's data providers' news or my own news. Also, I share my posts in all popular and relevant groups. Moreover, I add new friends everyday and invite them to like my page. I always respond on time and uphold conversations if there are some comments. Thus, for me, it looks like I do almost everything possible to get traffic from social networks to my website, but in reality, I have only few people a day (5-20 visitors). I've been doing my Facebook account promotion for half a year constantly every single day, and I want to point out that outcomes have become even worse than at the beginning. Back in time I used to have up to 100 visitors to my website from Facebook. So, I would really appreciate if you can advise me regarding this issue and help me understand how I can increase the flow of people to my website from Facebook and other networks. Why don't you try advertising on/off facebook?

It's rather simple - Facebook is becoming pay to play platform and not so good to do any "free" promotion. By free I mean that it won't cost you money to reach fans you've worked hard to get. Yes, you will put in time and work into getting fans on their platform, then you'll need to pay to reach those same people. If you try to do anything funny (only Facebook staff knows what's allowed and what's not), you'll get your page/group/account disabled. Simple as that.

Anyhow, I'd suggest either invest into ads and try to get good ROI or move away from Facebook as it will get harder and harder to get "free" (organic) promotion from pages and groups.

There are some gray hat ways where you can still try and get some semi-automated ways of getting organic reach, however I've even advised to move away from it and focus on different platforms. (Instagram with more forthcoming policies comes to mind), while it still lasts.

What I recommend is to pay for Facebook ads, at least start investing some money in advertising. Also, try to do ads with content that keeps people’s attention (Videos, trials and outstanding tittles). In addition, Facebook is not allowing company or business accounts to work without ads, it restricts you from reaching your audience.

I tried to run paid campaigns on Facebook as well. However, it was ridiculously expensive and it didn't bring almost any visitors. So, I realized that it doesn't really make sense to advertise on Facebook unless you want to flush your money down.

Maybe you would recommend me some other ways how to attract organic traffic to website which are really effective? I would be very grateful.

Are you using videos? Videos are where it's at these days. Facebook loves videos and gives videos a lot of reach and people who use Facebook love to watch videos. How can you use videos to market your content is what you need to figure out.
