1. I am using Facebook ads to send traffic to a signup page for a web app.

2. The publisher does not support any subids in the affiliate url. The only allowed item is my fb_pixel.

3. I am using "Traffic" objective instead of "Sales" because I prefer the way FB handles the budget. "Sales" tends to get expensive.

4. Using the "traffic" objective, I am getting more signups and clicks for the same amount.

BUT I cannot tell which Ad led to the conversion.

so here's my question:

How do you track conversions (signups) per ad in this scenario?

Im having the same issue too. but whenever i try sales objectives, the quality of traffic i receive is different from 'traffic' objective.

Right now, I've just resorted to showing all the events in a custom setting. It shows the roas and intents, but I don't trust it as the conversions on the publishers site varies from what fb reports back. Guess for now, I'll keep using this way to deal with it.

Use UTM parameters with Google Analytics, FB won’t track conversions directly, but GA can help you match traffic sources

Create custom conversion events on Facebook, connect events to Facebook Pixel, then Assign pixel id to website or landing page
