recently I've been dealing with going deeply into cloaking Google bots to totally diff website content.

at the beginning i thought that timing between requests would help me spot all bots but it seems that sometimes they delay between requests.

the things that did worked effectively was analyzing referrals requests and IP (which you can download for free). i thought about analyzing JS events and see how it goes also

i would love the get more insight on this subject....

Interesting techniques - I would just log all google agent IPs on multiple websites, then put them against one another to see who's just pretending to be a google agent or a real google agent.

the idea behind analyzing the referral is to be sure that the who is on your site came from where you were targeting. that is asssuming that bots are crawling in new sessions. and if not they come with diff reff from a regular user.
once you blocked a reff template. all the ip's related to it will be also bocked from now on.
