I just recently started messing with free wordpress.com blogs, over the years I never really used them. It seems there are only so many settings you can mess with in regards to seo, as you have to pay/upgrade to use extra things like plugins ect. For I wanted to ask advice from any of the wordpress blog experts out there who have been using them for years as to what all works the best just little tips and tricks that they find help seo the most. Like even whats the best of the free theme templates they found ect ? I'm using these testing out ranking a few different long tail keywords and seeing how they do. Any help would be appreciated.

Why use wordpress.com when WordPress.org is free and way better

Anyone have experience with this. So I created several different wordpress blogs each targeting some long tail keyword. These were really low competition so most the time after submitting the sitemap it would be indexed and ranking pretty high for these long tail keywords. So a few days after creating these I would notice that the keywords were not ranking in Google anymore like at all. Some of these keywords are so low competition that there would only be a few pages of results total on Google, but these few days later when I search the keywords the wordpress blogs are no where to be found in the results. But if I do an exact match search with "xxxxxxx" I can find the blog. Or if I do a site: search of the site it shows up. But yeah any variation of the keywords are no where to be found, even on searches that have a few indexed pages on google. So what's up with that ? Anyone have experience with this ?

can anyone speak to the sandbox like phenomenon i'm experiencing above ?

This is why .org is better and cheaper than wordpress.com

Guys my original question is not to debate which is better, it's for help on my specific question. Also the thing your not considering is I'm creating TONS of wordpress blogs to do the equivalent of that for a full websites would become quite expensive and annoying to manage.

Not really

Make few links and social signals

Indeks those links

You will have your kws in the top of the serps

Been a couple weeks on some of these and still having sandbox issues on every keyword. Also a couple appear to not be indexed a few days after indexing.
