The aim is to maintain control, and reduce footprints. It's that simple.
- use different IPs
- use different CMS
- reduce OBL footprints (like credit links, site wide links etc)
- each site should have a different link profile, don't blast all them with the same GSA list for example.
- make the hompages look decent at least. Just a nice header, an email opt-in, and a social widgets plugin (bumped with social voting software) will go a long way. If the site is high value (PR3+) I'd even put twitter and facebook widgets on there and link them up.
- be careful when buying domains from godaddy. They all have the same "expired" page, which is a pretty awful footprint.
- use 404-to-start type plugins to retain juice from pages that no longer exist when you buy domains. Google may discount 404s to homepage soon, so maybe redirect to another page, like "about us" instead of home.
- you can go the extra mile and buy a "welcome" video from fiverr. Not many people are doing this, but it makes the site look like it's made and run by a real person. Also putting a phone number on the site makes it look like it's run by a real business. I KNOW this works because I had a whole server de-indexed (shitty SEO hosting) 18 months ago, and the one site they didn't kill was the one with the phone number on it.
I own
fightback networks so naturally I don't like these blog network services where you blast a network with 50 posts anytime someone on BHW fronts $50. You can't delete your links afterwards, and they are heavily used, and they are completely open. Even Ghost Rank has been mentioned by Mr Cu tts on twitter recently. Not that this means they are doomed of course, because he tweeted about us a year ago and we haven't had any problems.
So going by the list above, FBN doesn't satisfy the "different CMS" part. But FightBack Networks is a very, very low cost solution to get ******** contextual links quickly and easily. We even supply unique seed content for you.
