Third World Perspective on Blackhatting : What It Means to Us Here

You may be surprised but if you live in the UK on the minimum wage it is no better, you do not live, you just exist.

Fuck. You are so right. I am from India. My family spent like $20k for me to be educated and become a dentist. Now that I am one, I can't make more than $200 working full time(Monthly wage) which is real low even by our standards. I am currently making $100 working part time as a dentist. People look up to me coz I have a Dr. infront of my name but that degree got me nothing. I'd rather be in Aus or NZ working a minimum wage job that I can use to save money monthly.

I had a brief good run in the good old days prior to panda and penguin. I never took it very seriously coz I did not realize what hell it will be after I graduate. Now, I am becoming desperate esp with my marriage coming up in October. I'll have a family to feed and keep a shelter over. You know what. This thread gave me motivation to start all over and get myself out of the shithole I have gotten in to.

Damn. My parents were born in 3rd world so I always hear about it and I have been there but it never really clicked until now the struggle all go through. Then what happened? My business mind kicked in and I thought of a way 3rd world people can make good income with my company.

OP do you know of a place other than BHW where I can hire 3rd worlders to do simple tasks? Finding leads and sending emails???

What he means is you could open a B-S-T and offer writing services. There are many people in IM that cannot use English properly so you could earn a lot and it would help them too. At least, that's what he means I think.
RW.
exactly!!

Thanks for that. I thought he meant I could write "for" the board. LOL. :-) I'll try to scrape up some money so I could be JrVip so that I could post a B-S-T. It never came to mind that I could write for the members that are not native English speakers. By the way thanks for the AddMeFast macro RW. That was way cool of you to give it away for free. Hope I could give back that way one day.
I HAVE AN OFFER FOR YOU,,,Open up a thread offering 15 review copies of your writing for FREE 300-500 words (IN EXCHANGE FOR A REVIEW)and if you complete that, I will PAY for your JR VIP membership..it will serve 2 purposes, if your writing is good you will have reviews to post on your BST and also it will prove to me you're serious about writing.. A mod can check this and keep me to my word... My anniversary is Friday and my sons birthday is Sunday so if for some reason I do not see this till monday that you completed the task, do not shit list me!! :)

Nice post, OP.

Truly, "To know all is to forgive all"

Respect. This is really an amazing thing to do for him :)

Let me give you the french version

Minimum wage is around 1000 euros / month
Average wage is around 1500 euros / month

Rent (for a 1 bedroom flat): 400 euros / month - in Paris, you can double that.
Food: 10 euros a day (really bare minimum): 300 euros / month
Cell phone: 50 euros a month
Bus/Subway: 50 euros a month
Water/gas/electricity bill: 200 euros / month
If you have a car, that's about 300 euros a month in insurance + gas.

So you see, here is the perspective from the EU... If you are lucky enough to get a full time job with minimum salary (many part time single moms get like 600 euros a month), you can survive. If you get the average wage, you can even buy a car if you save up for like 2 years.

Right now, about a third of people I know are either jobless, or working 1-2 part time jobs. I have a friend who has 2 part time jobs, but barely making it, and resorts to some pretty bad things to make a bit of extra income so that he can come on holiday with us.

The thing is we do have some pretty amazing social security, free hospitals and medecine, but that is not going to last long. With this debt / euro crisis, public spending is being slashed, my parents generation is having to work until 65 instead of 60, government aids are being slashed one after the other..

So in some ways, living in a country where life is cheap, you can get much better off with IM, since if you make $10 / day, you can maybe double your income, but if you live in France, that won't even be enough for 1 month's food.

(btw I moved from France cos it sucked, now living in a country where I spend about $1 / day on food :D but banking even more than i used to in France )

but in a nutshell.. it ain't all pretty roses and money-stuffed wallets in europe and US either.. lots of drug-trafficking and armed robberies here, and increasingly.

I appreciate the struggles of the OP and IM'ers in 3rd world countries, but don't even get me started on the cost of living in the US, let alone my home of Southern California. The taxes here alone can bury most businesses and now they are cracking into our IM earnings as well. I wish I could convince my wife and kids to move to a 3rd world country, so I could stop paying $2k a month in rent alone, and needing nearly $4k a month, just to cover bills and living expenses. Don't get me wrong I am not complaining and I do choose to live here and I live a nice life, but man would it be nice to not have that huge nut over my head and only have to worry about making a few hundred a month to cover my living costs.

Come to think of it, I am gonna use this thread to begin my pitch about why we should move to a more reasonable corner of the world.

Here in Pakistan $350 is enough to live a good life. This money is enough for a family with 4 members. Food is cheap, house rents are low - everything seems perfect.

Why not move to Florida or Texas, its much cheaper there than California.

Good thing in the third world is the potential of your internet access, everyone can earn USD here, but those in first world countries need to make a lot more USD than those in third world countries to survive themselves, you born in an unfair country but on internet, everyone have a fair chance to make an amount of money. Cheers.

I agree but in the USA there are social programs for those making less than a certain amount, not sure how it is in third world countries.

A friend of mines wife just completed RN training paid for by the govt and now she has a job that typically has a base salary of 50-60k per year plus full benefits, which means she can contribute back.

While I agree costs can get out of control this is still a great place for opportunity and there is help out there if you choose to look.

Also I like to take fiscal responsibility, I dont buy anything I cannot pay for with money I have in the bank.

I have 0 credit card debt, zero car payments which also means I can buy the cheapest insurance, if I want a vacation I dont charge it, I buy it. Th only "debt" I have are things like cell phone bills, internet access, rent and power...

Once you consolidate what you have out there on credit you find your bills are a whole lot more manageable.

Wait for a second. I'm from Egypt.. we are the same situation here

But there are some points to take into consideration.

1$ = 6.85 Egyptian pounds

We earn money by Egyptian Pounds and also pay with it. Now, a family like mine consist of 7 members can live easily by 6000 pounds/month. We belong to the rich category BTW. Which is less than 1000$. Any one in USA can earn by working in McDonald's...... Right ?!

No, Here is the Trick :)

For a coke I pay 2 Pounds. And for the same Coke you pay 2$ .. For a meal ( large MacDonald Sandwich ) I pay 21 pounds... How much do you pay for it ?!

For my rent I pay 800 to 1200 Pound ( 3 rooms, 2 Wc, Big Living and Big Reception. Great Kitchen ) .. How much would you pay for it in $ ?!

To conclude.. 5000 pounds here worth 5000$ in USA

The trick here is being like me... Earning in $ and spending in Pounds :D :D :D , Now we are talking
:cool::cool:

I would like to move to wherever you are living where rent is 50 dollars.

Believe me, you would not want to live like 3rd world people. Not no matter how nice it might sound to have rent that's zero to none.

Once you have internet access and pc, you probably have a better chance to make it big in IM there than in the United States. There more money can be put back into scaling it up and doing more methods quicker than in the United States.

Thank for the replies guys. I'm glad you saw how it is for us here. It's true that everywhere, trying to earn a living is getting harder. Even in countries like the US and UK. I'm sure everyone's trying so hard to make ends meet.

I just wanted to show the 3rd world perspective. 1st worlders are very lucky they have social welfare and that the government subsidizes their medicine and other needs. Here we don't have that. The price of medicine here in the Philippines is 5 to 10 times more expensive than in other countries. And when we get old most pensions here can last you only up to 1 year.

Another point I find true is that the Internet levels the playing field a bit. If your educated enough to know your way around computers. It minimizes the gap between the rich and the poor. I know of several teenagers here in my country that makes a decent amount from selling online. Heck, it's the recent trend here. Online sellers are popping up here and there. Some are even selling Internationally. These kids are not even 18 yet! It might help that government regulation over the Internet isn't that setup yet.

Also it lowers the cost of learning things. You can find almost any type of information on the internet for the cost of an Internet Connection. Sure you won't be getting a degree most of the time but the information that you find could earn you a decent enough living. BHW is an excellent example of a learning portal. :-)

Thanks to those who shared about the situation where they live. It makes me think that we should find better ways of helping each other out. I don't mean dole outs or spoon feeding. I'm thinking more in the lines of mentoring. But we should make sure that those that we teach will not only learn the knowledge of how to earn, but also the attitude of giving back and also mentoring those that would need the know how when they've learned enough to earn for themselves. That's why I admire the vets here who take time to help the noobs out. It shows wisdom not only knowledge.

"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach him how to fish and he'll know how to feed himself."

Thanks to those who took the time to go through this thread. You didn't really have to, but thanks for the time you took to find out about your BH brothers in the 3rd world. Try not to flame the noobs when they get annoying. :-)

Sir I've PM'd you. You just gave me hope sir. I'll do my best not to disappoint you. Will open the thread now. :-)

Edit: Trying to find a thread where I can post the offer. I don't want to get another infraction. Been a noob lately and have been getting several. (You could see that from the number of infractions I got above). Been studying up 20 hours straight per day and lurking the threads that I'm starting to get cramps.

FYI this offer is not forever, I will need to know before Friday if you intend to take this offer.

The safety net of the social welfare programs is the biggest difference between 3rd world and 1st world countries. We don't have much of that here. The best that we could expect are sardines and canned goods when calamities strike.

Speaking of that, disaster control is not that great here. During our last big storm "Ondoy", it was chaos over here. Most families had to sleep on rooftops for days because the government took weeks before they could rescue them from the flooded areas.

Zoning is also a problem. Can you imagine a private subdivision (residential) that is right beside a factory spewing smoke (industrial). That's basically the scenario where I live. There are over 10 warehouses and 5 factories right beside the area where my house is.

It's not that our country is a bad place to live. Many foreigners are amazed how filipinos seem to be always smiling, even in the impoverished areas of our country. That's one thing about us. We always seem to find the positive side of things even though we're knee deep in muck. We actually have a very low suicide rate. Not to mention that we have the best tourism destinations in the world. Palawan's Caves has been voted as one of The World's Wonders!

This is actually true because of the exchange rate and difference in cost of living. Only problem is that not many have the skills and knowledge to start out in IM. There are actually some 3rd world members of BHW that are making it big in IM. Though I don't often see them posting. I came across one member that had a big site set up already and was getting members to be an affiliate of his site. Though I'm not sure if he's a foreigner that's living here or if he's an actual filipino or filipina. There's actually a variant of ebay here that is owned by a filipino and based on the quick success (it took him less than a month to get over a thousand active members) of his site, I'm suspecting he's a BHer.
