Hi,
@splishsplash
Thanks for sharing this amazing method. I have a question about this method.
Is it okay IF I just show google ALL my article url in the silo/sub silo? Not just the 20 recent articles. Because I want the juice from my home page goes to all my articles not just 20 recent articles.
OOT. For link building procces using this method. What would you recommend, backlink to the home page or backlink to the money article?
Thank you.
No, don't do that. You're going to dilute it too much. You only want the 20 most recent, because that gives them initial juice. They won't lose their power once they roll off the main silo pages.
Backlinks to the homepage, the silo pages and the inner pages. I use single word lsi's to the homepage/silo pages usually, and longer phrase lsi/long partials to the inner pages. I also create informational non-money support articles that I link to, which in turn link to the money pages.
Thank you for the amazing SILO explanation! My additional question is this: Where do you put money articles ( example: 10 best gaming laptops on the market.? Lets say this is your main money article in gaming laptop topic and you want to rank it as well as possible).
Do you put it as mysite.com/reviews/, where /reviews is page url and you asign it H1 " 10 best gaming laptops on the market", page title is "top gaming laptops"? And after that make supporting articles for it (5 to 10 for example). Wordpress category for them could be Gaming Laptops.
OR
in mysite.com/reviews/ you put some text about how laptop reviews are useful AND then make the article (wordpress post) with the aforementioned title and H1 tag as a post which gets assigned category Gaming Laptops and is also listed as one of the links on a page mysite.com/reviews/. And then make additional wordpress post articles which only internally link to the money article and parent silo mysite.com/reviews/.
I hope this is clear enough question.
Best Regards,
Zatoichi
reviews isn't a silo. What is reviews? That's just a generic term. You could have reviews for anything. You're never going to be an authority in 'reviews'. You need to be an authority in laptops and gaming laptops, not reviews.
You have your money article in laptops/gaming/
What would amazing if someone could make a dummy site so some people(me) can actually see the setup.
I'm going to do another guide with a dummy site showing how this is done.
Great advanced guide splishsplash. I am waiting for this guide from so many months after i read your Amazon articles.
As per your previous threads i have used pages instead of category in my site.
1.What are the disadvantages if we use pages only instead of categories for siloing?
2.How to overcome above disadvantages if already implemented using pages?
3.Whether breadcrumbs are important for siloing?
4.How to implement them in every theme?
Thanks in advance.
There are no disadvantages to using pages. You NEED to use pages. It's not possible to do this with just the default category page.
Breadcrumbs are essential, yes. I can't answer how to implement in every theme

That's like asking how to fix every car in the world, lol.
this way you giving up the link power and the lower the structure is the less important for google.
i play around with internal linking as well and doubt this is the way to go ... from what i have seen on my pages.
Nope, this is plain wrong.
I'm ranking #1 for a 12k volume keyword, beating massive authority sites with only 4-5 links to the inner page and it looks like this
foo.com/level1/level2/level3/the-article-title
The reason you're not able to rank your inner pages is you're not structuring your site correctly to pass juice.
99% of sites aren't ranking for many keywords. Flat sites or ones with a structure. I see almost no one who knows how to build sites properly. My site is ranking for 24.5k keywords now. Up 200 from when I created this article. That's a bigger increase in a day than most people have their entire site ranking for.
This works. There is absolutely no doubt. No one I've showed this to has ever seen anything close to this growth.
