This does work. I used to do this a couple of years ago. I would reach up to 100k unique visitors per day after like a couple of weeks tops, which is when I would get banned by Google most of the time. I'd then rinse and repeat the same process. Over and over again. Then I moved on to other stuff. But yes, this DOES work so stop picking on the guy.
