Day 10

Today was a bad day for me all round.

My girlfriend of a year and a half and I broke up last night and to make matters worse I have either had an allergic reaction to something or fallen sick very very quickly because I'm having extreme hayfever-like symptoms which I don't suffer from.

I tried to register that domain on GoDaddy at the start of today but it has been taken. Not sure if this was a false display of availability from ajaxwhois.com or if it just got taken between then and now. Thinking it was a false display (noob error). Oh well I'll learn.

I took today off from marketing again due to my physical and mental state.

I have taken two of three days off this week so I will continue my internet marketing tomorrow and get back on track.

I made $1.75 today from my original website from two clicks. My total for November was also $0.50 per day.

So other than that not much has occurred so this is a short update. Hoping to get back on track and all set tomorrow by completing my site and starting my backlinking campaign for it. Will keep you posted.

This is great news really. When you get out of the funk.. if you have any balls, you will get the attitude of 'I'll show her what she missed out on'. Then you will accelerate in everything. Particularly your marketing.

I was one of the strongest teenagers in my school because one girl dumped me and I had to show her what she missed out on. My outlet then was to become super athletic, and I was always into weight training. By the time we hit the pool parties I had my revenge by way of success. Kinda glad now it never worked out with her, she hasn't exactly aged gracefully.

It's a little childish, but there is a sense of satisfaction in seeing someone else suck after they dump you and you fly high. Guess that's why Skater Boy by Avril Lavigne was such a popular song.

I have a mixed update to give today.

First the negative: I wasn't feeling too good still so didn't get much done. I only started my backlink campaign for my new website by building about 15 .edu profile links to it and did almost nothing else. It still isn't indexed in Google but I think that will happen in the next 48 hours or so. No sweat.

Now the positive: I have had a major emotional shift and feel more motivated than ever at the end of today. I said to myself today when I felt like giving up on the whole internet thing (just because of my mood) "nobody else is going to change my life for me" and I realised that I MUST take action or I'll go nowhere in life.

Tomorrow, I'm pumping up the hours im putting in and I'm gonna tear my micro niche project a new asshole.

I found a keyword with around 2k searches per month and est average CPC of over $5 so I'm gonna snap up the exact match domain (Verified that it's available this time) tomorrow and develop that as a one page website to help give me a guide of valuing keywords. The competition for that keyword is tough however so it will be a fair while before it starts ranking but thats okay this is a long term project.

Getting right back on it tomorrow and I'm gonna get on top of this thing.

Sorry there have been no updates for the past two days, not much happened so I didn't want to fill the thread with junk. Didn't launch that website I mentioned earlier, however I launched a new website today so stuck to my 2 for the week target.

I have had some SUCCESS!!

Today, I was checking my traffic in hostgator and noticed a one page website I created in November that I forgot about, which is ranking 5th in Google for a useless keyword because of exact match domain, which I was monetizing with Amazon affiliate links, and when I noticed that I had actually had some traffic (which I didn't expect), I checked in Amazon and it has earned $50.01 in total and $13.5 for December, which puts my last 7 days as $5 per day on average!!

Because this is an Amazon site, I expect the money to drop off dramatically over the next week or two due to Christmas so I am not counting this as a steady $5 per day.

I am considering selling the website on Flippa at an inflated price because of its good performance and hoping that I can find a buyer who wont realise it is performing better because of Christmas.

I also had my record Adsense day of 4 clicks and earnings of $4.15 yesterday.

Unfortunately however, somebody clickbombed my adsense site today so I have had to remove my ads and contact Google to report the suspicious clicks so there will be no revenue from that site for a few days, but that site has still brought in a legitimate $4.71 for the 5 days of December so far.

I have been building backlinks for my new adsense site from edu profiles and also sent a scrapebox blast to my backlinks to help index them and give them more juice without getting sandboxed which I launched this week and it has now had all pages indexed but not yet ranking well (a couple of keywords in top 20, none in top 10), and today I built backlinks to that Amazon website.

I will be backlinking my new Amazon website which I launched today based on a really good exact match keyword and let everyone know how that goes, and also I will be creating one or two new adsense websites next week.

Things are looking up I am ready to pump out two more websites next week and continue my backlinking

Looks like things are comin along nicely for you. That's cool that you forgot about a site and it ended up performing while you didn't even know. Now just improve the rankings and see how much you can ramp up the revenue for it.

Firstly, I have decided to update this thread less than daily but at least once or twice per week because I notice I'm always writing a similar thing when I update, so to avoid cluttering the thread I think I'll start writing less frequently when there is more progress to report.

On Monday I implemented a new health task in my routine which now includes drinking a minimum of two litres of water per day, and it feels good. I have drank a lot of alcohol this week though because I travelled to Melbourne and went out clubbing for a couple of nights so that isn't as healthy lol.
However, I have had some MORE SUCCESS!!

I had my best every earning day of $15! My amazon affiliate website has been steadily earning every day (but I still expect it to drop off around christmas), and yesterday I put adsense back on my site which was clickbombed.

My newly launched amazon affiliate website has had a few clicks but no sales and still isnt ranking in Google for anything, so today I did a 1k scrapebox blast to hopefully give it a bit of a kickstart.

Because of my drinking and whatnot so far this week I haven't really done that much to be honest, as I haven't built many backlinks, seen many changes in SERPs, or launched any new websites.

I am intending to try out some article marketing in the next few days and see how that goes for me in terms of traffic and SERP boosts.

I still wont call goal #1 of $3 per day achieved despite definitely making well over that for the last week because I doubt these earnings will be sustained past Christmas, so I will reassess my goals and earnings around then and see how I'm doing.

Not so pleased with my effort this week, but pleased with my overall progress

I finally have something interesting to update this thread with so here goes!

Firstly regarding internet marketing; that one page amazon affiliate earner that I had has experienced some very interesting results. It was ranking number 5 for its keyword and has been in the top 10 for around a month until I added a sitemap. I decided that a sitemap is supposed to be good for SEO so I used the Google Sitemap Generator plugin for wordpress and let it do its thing. Approximately three hours after creating the sitemap my website dropped off the face of the Earth (to position 550) for its keyword and has remained around there for almost a week now. That would have to be one hell of a coincidence if those two events are unrelated. Thoughts anybody?

I also found out why my new one page affiliate website hadn't been ranking for its keyword despite its exact match domain; because I had a noindex tag on the page that I had left accidently during construction, so that is now removed and I am ranking in the top 10 (8 and 9) for two keywords related to the product (possibly helped by my little scrapebox blast to the website) but still no sales from that website yet.

I have almost earned enough through Amazon to get my first $100 USD check so I should be finally seeing some of the money that I have earned which I think will be a pretty cool feeling.

I have spent pretty much all of last week partying and not doing any internet marketing at all (full honesty in this thread) so I haven't many other IM developments to report (haven't tried article marketing yet but setup xgen seo to give it a try) but I have more great news!

Yesterday I received my results for the completion of year 12 and I got a score high enough to guarantee me entry to my first University preference of Bachelor of Commerce at The University of Melbourne and TWO SCHOLARSHIPS.

One of the scholarships is worth $13,500 over a three year course and is given to 150 students per year and the other is worth $15,000 PER YEAR over three years and is only given to two students per year so I have really done well for myself to get that one awarded to me of all people. I will now have enough money coming in to live comfortably in Melbourne without a job at all which means my internet marketing journey will continue full steam ahead!

I anticipate that this week will be packed full of celebrations also so I don't expect to get too much done but I do think I will be launching at least one new website.
