The F*ck is wrong with Death By Captcha

Hi All,

I was thinking to register for DBC but so many bad review. Before buying any credit I want to try it for free.
Please suggest me I should go for this service or not, Thanks in advance for your suggestion.

contacted DBC greenhat and got reply that my credit expired because it's over 270 days old. Quite weird but I got 75% of my credit back. This is in the TOS so my bad didn't read it.

Nobody reads the terms of service, that's still pretty stupid though. I can't see any reason to have your captchas decay other than greed.

Hi myownhero,

The policy is in place per internal accounting policies; many services have some sort of expiration date for the same reason.

It's also worth noting that the credits will expire only if you didn't make any payments after your last one; so if you bought a 5k CAPTCHA package, didn't use any credits and in 269 days bought another 5k CAPTCHAs, you won't lose any balance.

still, most of the time I got "the remote server is too busy..."
 
The service became as simple as the word "sh!t", about 70% of the times I get "The remote server returned an error: (502) Bad Gateway.", and when they do accept the captcha it only happens after 2-3 retries, and also then when the captcha is "sent", in about 50% of the times I receive completely wrong captcha that I'm pretty sure was ment to be sent for someone else, example:
A captcha that I sent had the word "Chilled"
the result that I received: "zSK10f 1ztPr"

and add to that the wrong recognition rate for the "real captcha", usually it takes for DBC these date to really figure out a captcha - about 5 times.
I'm out of here.

I'm always impressed to see you active on this forum, talking to users. Communication is a big plus and the major reason I signed up with you guys.

I want performance as well as accuracy, so unfortunately most of my traffic goes elsewhere. But I check your service frequently and lately, your service really sucks. The rest of the time you are great as a back up/traffic leveller, but the last few days this has not been an option. Your web page says that you have been having hassles.

I realize that when price is the main consideration performance has to be secondary, so, this is just to let you know that there are people out here (me, for one) who would be willing to pay a premium for a superior service. Prime criteria speed and accuracy.

As far as I'm concerned, your support has always been excellent, all that's missing is the service to match.

From time to time I contact your support and ask about this and always get back the stock answer "we're working on it."

So what's the deal? I'd love to see a public statement.

When a Rep. tells you that you should get better results now, is because performance fixes have been applied to the whole system and therefore to every DBC user.

No of course not, i can't afford having shitty service, that costs too much.
So glad there're many nice alternatives that in the end cost a lot less than you because well, they solve captcha!

You still haven't told me the issue you're facing to proper address it : /

However, our doors will remain open; so if you ever feel like using DBC again let me know, I'll give you some testing credits so you don't have to take my word for it regarding DBC's performance.

Here's some of the issues I'm facing with Death By Captcha:

Frequent Overloads
Captcha Service is Not Responding Errors
Too Frequent Captcha Answer Was Wrong Errors (Site Now Reports 86.6 Accuracy Rate)

I really liked the service, but it appears there are some issues still unresolved. I'll fund an alternative provider's captcha breaking service and give them a shot. Please let us know when the Death By Captcha network can be reliably used again. Thanks.
 
Can anyone fill me in on what good captcha solvers are good for? What software are you using where you need high amounts of captchas solved?
 
I agree with everything you said THEY ARE SHIT. It seems to me like if they find them selves not knowing the captcha completely they just type what ever and get your money. This is from my experience with them when using sick submitter. I have wasted a plethora of good juicy backlinks because of them!!!

We were recently affected by a wave of malicious behavior by one of our captcha decoding partners; this problem has been sorted out. Please feel free to PM me your DBC username so you don't have to take my word for it.

I'd also like to live-verify on your submissions with your software and compensate you accordingly if needed, so if you could provide me your credentials I'll be happy to assist you.
