The report found that illegal downloads and streams can actually boost legal sales of games, according to the report. The only negative link the report found was with major blockbuster films:“The results show a displacement rate of 40 percent which means that for every ten recent top films watched illegally, four fewer films are consumed legally.”

What are your opinions on this?

That is great
make piracy legal.
and support it as a marketing tool.

Hi Mate,

Privacy kills, it does affect business else why it's on the news.

Cheers,
C.

Some big software companies might not say it outwardly, but they intentionally let it occur to some extent since it's free advertisement.

I agree and disagree at the same time. Reason I disagree is the promotional advantage of it, I have also known some products as a result of piracy.

I'll be damned if I ever pay for one of Hollywood's shit films. Spiderman 42 is not getting any money from me.

It also saves you the money you end up spending on something you dislike.

Definitely. Also I am not surprised it doesn't hurt sales as people like me would have never watched a film without pirating it anyway. No pirate = I never watch new movies.
