The Complete NOOBZ Guide to Competitor Link Research!

Another great bit of advice.

I would LOVE to see your philosophy on ranking. But that is a pipe dream...

My top 10 competitors have no backlinks, all they got are social signals like facebook share, pinterest pin...Those social signals can be bought easily with a very low price, I did it and my site does not rank.

Btw, top 3 competitors are super authority sites, and my site is new with the stats like DA1 PA1

Any advice ? No links to copy :(

Hi tommy

If in case my competitor is using extremely powerful PBN links (for medium competitive niche), then in this case what type of links should I use? As I don't have bucks to try a PBN .

Great share.. I wonder why no one of all the guys here offering BST's just make this as a REAL & Trustworthy service!!

Not sure if you're going to answer any questions, anyway, I will try.

When you go for the best backlinks of an competitor and you enter their website url into majestic, hit on BackLinks, are you then looking at the URL Flow metrix especially the TF of that url?

I see a lot with high numbers there in the beginning and they slowly end into 0 - so the higher the better right?

You are the most talented seo expert that i known tommy :) i like your passion and consistency in your work and inspire us Internet marketer. Congratulations on your achievements! Keep it up!

If my understanding is correct. Relevancy is the key :)

Hey this tutorial came just in time, as I've been "sniping" for weak niche sites that are ranking for nice keywords, with bad content and poor links. Poor links as in ALL of them can be replicated with relative ease, and some of them are pretty bad. (Blog comments on pages with 100+ OBL).
Also, if they haven't bothered to proofread their content, i can assume they're not using some super-powerful hidden PBNs.

Is this a good mentality for SEO: " If they could do it, so can I?"

Also, tommy, what's your take on EMDs. I saw the thing most of these niche sites i was talking about have in common is that they're EMDs or PMDs.
Does that help? I mean if someone links to you using the url which contains your keyword, does that count as an exact anchor? Does google give you some leverage in that aspect?

Cheers.

Ahrefs has 50% of via "seobook" for the first month. I don't know if it will work if you cancel and sign up again using the same credit card.

I have just signed up and discovered something about a site I'm looking at, so I have a few questions.

Naturally, this niche is spammy hence the sites I see are presumably churn and burn.

This person took a dropped domain and built new links to it, but I don't see how these new links are that powerful to be able to rank him up there within 3 months.

If it is old links, only a handful point to the homepage, and the innerpages are left as it is 404 (no redirect back to home page).

What could it be? Is he having PBN and hiding those from bots?

How would you do churn and burn analysis and attempt to outrank them?

Yeah since I started posting these my inbox has been on over drive so I'm taking a little breather between threads now lol.. the next one should be live on Monday though so keep an eye out for it :)

In terms of SEMrush, you can go on fiverr and get a one month account for $5 or $10 (assuming there are a lot of newcomers to this blog who don't know that). Or, as some one previously mentioned you can just buy the reports. This goes for ahrefs and the rest of the tools mentioned in t0mmy's post.

How would you go about outranking sites like amazon or Wikipedia. Whenever I search my keyword those type of sites are always sitting on page 1.

Great stuff to share. Really appreciated this. Thank you mate
