I just wanted to share my thoughts regarding chargebacks,

In my opinion as a salers you should stop using paypal, you all know how easy it is to open paypal account with false details via vcc or any similar methods, and some of you are even using these accounts to recieve thier payments...

I personally use Webmoney (which is my favor), bank wire, or any other cash services WesternUnion/MoneyGram. all of these above are really safe methods for the salers,

from the buyer point of view to make a bankwire or similar cash service such as MoneyGram/WesternUnion isn't an easy choice since they are afraid to get scammed but you all should consider webmoney which is safe,anonymous and easy for both sides.

* just to make it clear I Don't work for webmoney and I'm not related to them in any way, I'm just an happy customer.

Unfortunately paypal can't do much if anything about it, the bank that issues the CC makes the determination if a chargeback is valid or not and their only interest is in keeping their customer happy. As long as the customer isn't to far out in left field the charge back will go through. Paypal can't win a lot of the charge back cases.

Your best option is to refuse CC payments or accept the risk of chargebacks unfortunately. It might also help to limit purchases to certain countries and or require phone verification of the order.

helaughs is correct about paypal. I have been in the cc processing industry for years and paypal can't do anything about it. The chargeback rules and regs are very sided towards the buyer even if you are sending actual product. Less than 10% of all chargebacks get reversed. Also, Domestic (American) sponsor banks will not accept digital product merchants so it's likely the bank is offshore. I am not a big paypal fan as I agree about the security issues stated above (I actually had a high def tv charged to my paypal account once for over 2k and it set my bank account back for 3 weeks!) but, trying to find another processor for your sales would be almost non existant.
