Hey y'all

As I am growing slowly but steadily I guess I become more prone to spam attacks. They look like this: Over the course of 12 hours I get followed by 50 or so accounts that all have similar names (usually a name and a number e.g. taylor2487, jim1384, stacey1734, izabel7878), pic of some random bikini chick, no posts and are following more than a thousand people. These are super spammy accounts that are not doing anything for me and harm my engagement rate. For now I have reported all those accounts as spam but it does not stop and obviously I cant keep track of every account that follows me.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? Obviously reporting works very slowly.

Thanks and peace out

They'll eventually get banned. But if you have a bot you can choose to block all people with over a certain followers /following ratio I think.

That is most likely a competitor trying to harm you by sending you fake and low quality followers.

Switch to private mode so that you can approve your followers. If you don't want to do that, block all those profiles, which will take more time if you don't use a bot.

Thanks for the reply. I am using Jarvee and will look it up right now.

Set your account to private for the time being.

What ratio would be a good one to start with? I am using Jarvee.
depends on what the usual ratio is for the spam accounts that are following you.
use a type of laffer curve which will tell you at what follow rate the most fake follows are coming

I just went through these accounts and it is very different. Some have 5k followers, just following 800 people. Some have 800 followers, following 8000 people. What they all have in common tho is 0 posts. I am afraid though, that the blockhammer on everyone with 0 posts might unintentionally block some people who just like and comment and post nothing themselves?

The only way to control this by making your account private and manually accepting new followers.
You can then make it public when the spam attack stop.
