Sudden Ranked Drop? Google Algo Update?

This gives me some hope. When did this happen for you? For me it's been like this since the 7th of January.
For me since 11th of January .... No sign of recovery, jumped from 140 visitors (organic) / day to 0.00. It was a new site, only 14 weeks old ....Ultra clean, 100% white hat.

Slowly but steady I start to think the same... You guys think a 301 would not be safe in the long run? I’m thinking of deindexing/deleting the site and republishing the content on a new site - knowing that it might take some time to get any rankings back.

But since my old site already is totally whitehat I just have lost all my trust in Google. So sad :-(
Does taking back the content work if website is deleted ? Google won't consider this as being duplate content with something that used to exist? I'm also considering deleting my site and just copy/pasting the content to a new one.....

I just have NO IDEA if this is possible or not.

Status: Still nearly zero traffic (20 Visitors / day).

Im just think about deindexing the page and start the whole thing on a new domain, hast anyone some experience in this?

Edit: @Florian67X posted at same time...

Did you build any links to the website?

Did you build any links to the website?
No, 0 link, we always wait at least 6 months before building links. So it's 100% clean as far as links are concerned.
As far as articles quality is concerned, to be honest, out of my 40+ websites, this is certainly the one with the best possible content. Super informative, writen for the visitor with a huge KW research...

So confusing on why it dropped ...
What we notice :
- Less and less mobile friendly pages on GSC (whereas normal indexing is fine and 0 error).
- When I run checks of rendering on mobile from https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly?id=IsNZ8bbGS0sZ5vC8t2VApg page des not look fine at all
- When I check site:monsite.com on google, it only shows a few pages (11 on 57)

....let's wait and see...

i don't think this update is about links, i see website who just using 15$ per month Pbn network is unaffected by this update (my competitor) and they receiving boost , November update might because of links but maybe 14 jan update wasn't

but i might be wrong

Guys, if you want an advice, don’t deindex anything, in march 2017 I got hit by Fred update, and my website passed from 3000 visitors/day to 100. In 7 January I got hit for 5 websites, but the same website that got hit by Fred in 2017 is the only one that increased a lot from 100 visitors a day to 600+ visitors.

Hi Guys, there is a thread about it on twitter with John Muller there : https://twitter.com/JohnMu/status/1217923028010577944
(My website is white hat so please participate if yours is white hat too)

Does it show this under more info? Or can it load every page resource for you?

Yes it's the same for me..

This looks SO MUCH like an indexing bug.

Agreed. But I do still think this is coming from a lack of crawl budget and then ability to render pages correctly. So I have learned a valuable lesson: inline as much CSS as possible.

Do you hide content via "display:hidden" on mobile?
We do so... but only caused by the smaller dimensions.

what is "CSS Inline" ? Sorry, I'm technically VERY limited... I'm 100% into SEO, 0% into dev lol

I've actually just noticed that 6 of my sites dropped following the BIG decrease in "Mobile Friendly" pages...while I still see 0 error.

Drop in "Mobile friendly" pages, and, same day, terrible drop in trafic, going from 150+ visitors / day on some websites to literally 0...

Yes, you are not alone. If you go in sitemap section, you can see the sitemap with the correct number of urls, but if you open it you can't see anything inside. Don't know if is a bug or what, but you are not alone in this :D

So ... one of my website got fully deindexed for some reason (only main url is on google). I dont see any penalty in the search console so I am not sure what is going on anymore... I will try and update all the pages and request reindexing.
