Hi guys.

So I'm planning to launch my website on WordPress and am wondering which type of hosting to choose. HostGator offers some kind of special hostings for WP along with the ordinary web hostings, but I don't quite understand the difference. Can anyone explain how do they differ?

Also, which hosting service would you recommend? HostGator seems good to me, but maybe there are some other options worth considering?

Thanks in advance.

I think most companies promote Wordpress hosting more for the SEO value in pushing that phrase.

Host gator are ok but there are much better providers out there.

Personally I look for mid-size providers where you still get expertise and reliability but also a bit more personal care.

Two off the top of my head - host-stage and power up hosting.

we have big marketplace on BHW which have lot of good provider and they are all better then Hostgator. stay away from them.
wordpress hosting is just a marketing technique for up selling there is no big difference in regular hosting and wordpress hosting

Stay away from bluehost, their support sucks

Go with some company which provides good customer service if you have the budget. I use traffic planet , a bit more expensive but save me a lot of headache

I've used Hostgator for years. Sites are up and load fast. I don't care about much else.

Check out BlueHost. This is what I have been using for the past 2-3 years, reasonable pricing too.

Don't go with HG first of all.

Second of all you don't need special hosting for WordPress. It's just a ploy to get you to pay more money and so they don't have to pay for a cPanel license.

We'd love to have you at http://www.webhosting.ninja

Lol, I got a totally different experience with them . My site is down 2 times within one month of hosting with them .

And they don't have a ticket system. Good luck contacting them , you have to wait for their live chat support which you will need to wait ages .

And guess what , they don't have any ways to inform you that they resolved the issues and your site is up. You have to manually check every few hours and see if your website works. Ridiculous

If you are looking for a real wordpress managed hosting then it would be something like wp engine. Most other host that offers wordpress hosting just puts the wordpress sites on the same server as the shared hosting.

Any good host can help you out. Just make sure you site is always updated and you will be fine.

I have never used Hostgator before but as long as it allows you to install the WordPress on the server, you are good to go. I personally use Ipage and i will say it is the best service provider that I have used over the years. You can just give it a test and if you feel it meets your needs, then I have no issues you working on it.

Stay away from bluehost, it's sucks. I reccomended stablehost, namecheap & hawkhost.

I am sure you won't mind using a webhost having custom tailored WP packages; Wordpress comes Pre-installed and is automatically updated whenever a new stable version is available on top of this you have Varnish Cache and Nginx which will certainly improve the performance of your websites. You may PM me for details.

try TMDhosting.com
worked with them about 4-5 yrs,no issues at all
good luck!

I never use hostgator. I've hosted my WordPress sites with asphostportal for 4 years. They are expert in WordPress. Never get serious problem until now.

Don't know why everyone is hating on HostGator. I've used them from hundreds of sites and they are fast and reliable. (not to mention cheap).

Customer support via live chat is also great (every time I ask for dedicated IP or something goes wrong they respond within 15 minutes)

I think you should stay away from Hostgator and EIG's companies. For Wordpress hosting, there're many quality providers that you can rely on. For more details and the comparison, please visit here for more http://ecoupon.io/best-wordpress-hosting-providers/
Then you can have the best choice for your business
I hope this help
