Disclaimer: This guide is for newbies, everything I’m going to share I’ve learnt from here.

Hey, I make a living from affiliate marketing for almost a year, I’m not earning much, but it’s enough to pay my bills and live my avarage life without having to take a 9-5 job. And now I’m going to show you…

…How to make your first $ via ClickBank

Clickbank is a marketplace (mainly) for digital products which you can promote as an affiliate and earn a percentage from the sales. This busniess model is called „affiliate marketing”. It’s the easiest and cheapest way to start your online journey.

You can start it without any cost, you can go little blackhat, clickbank won’t review your website and ban it for „thin content” or some BS like this. You don’t even need a website.

Okay, but what I need to do to earn my first $?

You won’t make it overnight, or you will. I did on the first day, then haven’t earned a dime for months. The point is to give it time, and don’t give up on the first week if you don’t sell anything.

It takes time to understand a niche, to gain some knoweledge and discover the platforms of your target audiance. When you are done with the steps above, you have to figure out how to promote on those channels. So the most important thing is not giving up.

Also, you should set realistic goals, not $1000/day, but not even $100/day. When I started my goal was to make ONE sale, then one sale/week then 2 sales/week. This way you won't be disappointed, even when you set low milestones, sometimes you won't achive them. If it happens, ask your self the question: did I do everything to achive my goal? The answer is usually "no".

Sure, I won’t give up. What else do I need?

You need decent english. People just won’t take you seriously if you write „funny”, grammatically bad sentences. And you’ll write a shit ton of comments. If your english isn’t that good write few generic promo lines and correct them via Grammarly.

You’ll need to be able to do Google searches. Seriously, so many people just fail at this step. You won’t find any succes in IM if you can’t find the answers to your questions. And trust me, you’ll have a lot of questions and no one will spoon feed you.

I can do this! What’s next?

Next, you have to select a niche. I won’t go in details here, there are plenty of niche research guide here on BHW, but I’ll leave few basic advice here.

    • Choose a niche you are already comfortable with.

    • Avoid adult, dating, binary, forex.

    • Avoid seasonal things.

Anyway, I tend to choose product first on ClickBank, then I check if the niche is saturated with marketers or not. I’ll get back on this later.

    Read: Detailed niche selection guide

    How to choose my product?

Few weeks ago I had an argument about this topic on BHW, because somebody suggested to a beginner to pick a high gravity product because that „sells”. I strongly disagree with this. Higher gravity means higher competition among marketers, and that’s not what you want when you are just starting out. My advices here are the following:

    • Pick a product under 10 gravity.

    • The landing page should be appealing. Don’t waste your traffic to landing pages which won’t convert.

    • CB is infamous about trash products, and you should avoid them, because of your soul will burn in hell. But mostly because of the high refund rate. Anyway, quality products will convert better, and you’ll feel better promoting a product which gives value to the end user.

    • Avoid products advertised here, or on ClickBank official channels. Why? Because If you see a product which is heavily promoted to affiliates, you can be sure that the competition will be fierce. You will struggle to find „virgin” traffic channels, seo competition will be high, basicly everywhere you want to promote there will be 2 other marketer to promote the same product.

    • Product price should be reasonable both for you and the end user.

TL;DR: Choose a legit, low gravity product, with good looking landing page which isn’t popular among marketers.

Cool, I got my awesome product, what now?

You have multiple choices here, if you have zero money to invest, and your englando skills are limited, your best bet is to write few catchy CTA lines, fix it via grammarly and share your link over forums, social media, and comments. Share your links everywhere until you have money for a HQ review article.

You can use url shorteners to mask your afflink, but don’t expect huge conversion rate. Also they are banned on reddit. What you can do to improve CR rate is register a blogspot (with niche related name) and redirect it with a javascript to your afflink. After you got your article, remove the redirect and make a good looking blog.

If your english is semi decent, you definitely need a website with atleast a review article on it, the more the better. You can make great drag & drop landing pages on Wix for free.

You need 1 sales / month to buy hosting and a domain. If you have some money you should start here. If you came from the web2 route, It’s time to redirect our good ol’ pal to our new and shiny Wordpress site.

Having your own site has plenty of benefits and the main one is that It’s yours, and you can do whatever you want with it. You can customize it, you can go blackhat (redirecting the back button etc), you can tweak it as much as you want.

I won’t go in details how to set things up, I assume you can use google.

So, the first thing you want to achive is not $100 a day. It’s your own website.

Man, how will I get traffic?

I won’t share huge secret traffic sources here, since I’ve learned everything from BHW, but I’ll tell you how I promote my review site. Keep in mind what works for me maybe won’t work for you, it depends on the niche.

Blog commenting: It still works, but not as effective as it was few years ago. It still has benefits, and I know for a fact that my first sale came from this method. You can (and should) read the original method and the comments here: Easy 100 a day - perfect for newbies!

Don’t just comment on new articles, find high search volume keywords in your niche and comment the top 20 site on google. They get targeted traffic everyday, and usually they are authority sites, so commenting on them sometimes comes with SEO benefits too. For example I managed to score a ******** comment backlink from psychologytoday.com, and it was my strongest backlink according to openlinkprofiler.org until it’s dropped.

Forum posting: Every niche has it’s own forums, all you have to do is join & participate. If they allow signature write your CTA there and start posting. If your english is bad, share things. For example you’re selling a car auction guide, repost content and pictures from cars. Once you have a list of forums where you are allowed to post, you just find some content (I use reddit for fresh content)copy-paste it to word where you add the bb codes, then you paste it to every destination you have.

Facebook groups: It’s getting harder and harder to spam Facebook, but you should try it, however posting your review all over Facebook won’t convert well. People on Facebook aren’t in buyer mode, they are there to killing time. What you can do is to make a landing where you capture emails for a freebie then redirect them to your review, then send follow up emails.

(Mailmunch is a great optin plugin with an autoresponder and a built in LP builder for free. Change it to GetResponse or Aweber later. Mailchimp is bad as fuck, but you can use it to send emails to your list until you can afford a subscription for one of the services mentioned above.)

    Instagram
: Same as Facebook. Freebie -> Opt-In -> Review -> Follow Up mails.

Twitter: Same as the others above.

Pinterest: I have no idea how it’s working, I seriously don’t get this solcial media platform, but since it’s in Massplanner I follow people.

Reddit: Some marketers hates it, but reddit promotion can be insanely lucrative if done well. Ofcourse some niches works better than other, or won’t work at all. That’s up to you to test it. If you decide to promote on Reddit here are few pointers:

    • Don’t underestimate small subreddits, if it’s niche related, post your link. They aren’t moderated, and your link will stay on top forever. Your link will pop up to the few subscribers because the subreddit became active again. People searching for subreddits will see it too.

    • Large subreddits are well moderated, and possibly you can only make text posts. I’m looking for conversations here, where I can participate presell my stuff.

    • If you have some proxies you can use multiloginapp to vote and conversation manipulation, or you can use the upvote panel from the marketplace.

    • Where appropiate you can submit pictures hosted on imgur, where you can link to your site in the description. You can post it to the same subreddits.

    • Buy $0.88 domains, redirect it to your site and submit to the same subreddits.

    • If you have authority accounts, make subreddits and post your afflinks.
As you see, you can have multiple link to your site on top of the same subreddit to maximize the CTR.

YouTube: I’m ain’t a huge video maker, I made photomontages around few keywords and they rank well, bringing me sweet tageted traffic. It’s around 1 hour of work to make the slideshow, SEO optimize the whole thing, and upload it. And It’s completly passive traffic after that, so there is no reason to skip YouTube.

Here is a great tutorial about YouTube SEO: http://backlinko.com/how-to-rank-youtube-videos

Documentum sharing sites: There is not much to talk about it, make a .pdf, and google for sites where you can submit. You can also upload your .pdf to torrent sites, make sure to give your ebook a clickbait title.

SEO: You can think ahead and do a little keyword research before you write/order your reviews because sooner or later they will rank because of the lots of backlinks you are going to create. You can do a few keyword evaluation for free on http://kwfinder.com and https://www.keywordrevealer.com/ .

Do this every day, and write up every promising keywords for later, and choose a main kw and implement it to your review. Don’t overthink it, you can always put more SEO content on your site later when you’ll have the budget. Keep an eye on your keywords via https://www.serplab.co.uk where you can track 50 keywords for free.

When your terms reach page 2-3, you’ll have a huge well diversed backlink profile, and a healthy budget to buy PBN links from the marketplace to push your keywords to page 1. It isn’t rocket sience, and you can reduce the costs if you aren’t a lazy fuck as I am.

    • Use heatmaps to optimize your content and CTA lines/buttons. SumoMe/HotJar is great for this.

    • Capture emails and set up an autoresponder with follow up emails, trust me on this, It will bring back the subscription price every month.

    • Optimize your page loading time, w3 and cloudflare are free to set up so there is no reason not to do it.

    • Monetize exit traffic via redirect/exit popup.

    • Buy a premimum theme.

Holy hell talk about a long and boring over complication of a simple procedure. Long story short - Find something that everyone isn't promoting and promote it until everyone else is promoting it. Then move to the next product.
    Also, Amazon Affiliate is better.

I'm just starting out with clickbank. 1st thing that I tried was bing ads. It works! But not good ROI. Now I'm trying to create MNS for that product.

p/s: I'm promoting cb product from this forum. So far so good. You must need to find good niche.

This is an overly difficult guide to a very simple way of doing business. Affiliate marketing in the end is the easiest way to make money online and probably one of the easiest ways to make money in the world... besides a PayPal money generator that is. Treat affiliate marketing as a more simple idea and you'll get a lot more out of it.

I don't agree with the less than 10% gravity for beginners, it also mean often gravity is low for a reason, I'm taking higher gravity's between 25 and 80 and only below ten if the lander and product are extremely good.

I really need to get into reddit, I got experience in all platform exept in reddit. I got the app but got no idea how all these subreddits work but I read many people using reddit for traffic.
