Regarding what's bad for your site's SEO, I can't really tell because I don't know what SEO you've done so far (if any).

But anyway, I'm not going into details as it's going to take a lot of explaining. Just run an audit first to detect the potential problems with your site's SEO, fix them, and then you'll have a better idea how to approach getting ranked.... Although, I've never dealt with Shopify before so I don't know how google treat this platform.
