Social Signal Really Effect to SEO?

i would add some quality socials signals for every moneysite even if there is no direct effect on rankings simply to diversify link profile as much as possible. Naturally new sites are more likely to gain social signals first before do-follow links on websites.

Yes, in way it help in terms of exposure..Chances are there will be an increased traffic to your website.

yeah. right.. here comes the ontestested "seobloggerwisdom"..

@mickyfu - how many social do you usually "blast" on ya projects?

Social is too easy to game and G does not use it as a direct ranking factor.

You can use social to distribute your content to hopefully gain links naturally (if the content is good enough). I've heard social signals can be used to help with indexing, but I cannot confirm.

If you trust moz case studies, social will give you a boost of approx 5-15% in traffic, looks like google pluses are most valuable, also social is good for indexing if you do get a social service make sure its dripfed I would assume 50000 social signals at a brand new page would look fishy but hey thats how much viral posts get anyway

good image dayum. anyway social signal =/= social signal.

lets say social signals divide for links and for url likes

if people were linking our page on their walls on facebook naturally it wouldnt change anything. Wall of facebook profile isnt crawlable (its private). but anyway even if it was crawlable = most of the time it wont index on it own, so we can have big social pages on any social platform but most of natural links wont index anyway.

other thing is when someone +1 or likes a URL = im not sure how google checks that and how url stats are getting indexed but I also didnt see any change while having some signals like these.

To me links from sites such as Facebook (even nofollow) are authority links. I get them anyway (if I can), from as many places as I can (social, parasite, anything with big successful site that offers you a backlink)

theres also such thing as authorrank - or maybe its not existent, but brand awareness starts from official facebook,G+,twitter, linkedin pages.

At this moment I believe they don't effect you rankings at all. They are WAY too easy to manipulate, google can't afford to include them into there algorithm (or at least give them decent "weight")

So I think right now it's just a waste of time to try to manipulate ranking via social signals.

Good analysis, I agree the thing in the infographic that confused me was the google plus followers that they received to a google plus business page and rankings rose 15% that to me cant be a false positive in any way, to me thats a clear sign at least a business page has higher value than creating any type of other page. But for a post somehow plus one votes help. Anyway not a insane boost, but hey 10% is 10% all these little things add up.

Now the scary thing I was reading some posts on here of some vendors selling social signals that had sites drop in rankings, not sure why or how I dont know the risk with buying social signals, havent had a problem so far and hoping i dont.
