i think a free website like XXXX.blogspot.com no longer powerfull if competing with paid website, this is just my opinion, i don't know much about this, but from my experience, i always targeting keywords
which is where on first page many of website kind like this..

From an aspect of SEO, you're right. We all know subdomains are recessive than paid domains. But blogger is still a powerful web 2.0

Paid is better for many reasons. But I always lean to the content is king argument. Why is it that a YouTube video has more chance of ranking higher than a paid domain? Simple. Because Google see's it as more relevant. If you are writing good content consistently, the blog will naturally grow and gain more authority.

Google's main goal is to provide relevant results. But it also has to be great content. Ask yourself if you are providing this. Gaming the system strategies can only take you so far.

Google rewards the most well-branded sites with relevant content. It's been said before, but if you write the most informative or relevant medical article on topic X for your paid domain, it still won't rank as high as a mediocre article on topc X on WebMd. So it is content plus authority/reputation that creates a higher ranking outcome.

A major change that has recently happened is that Google no longer automatically gives a high authority credit to a free property url or sub-domain as it did in the past. Third party sites that try to measure authority with their own metrics (Moz, Majestic, Ahrefs etc) have had to modify their systems to adapt to the change. Subdomain blogs that used to have a day 1 DA rating in the 90's nowstart much lower, the high TF that used to autmatically be credited to a subpage off a high TF domain now show a goose egg of 0, and so on.

You now have to build the authority of your content up page url by page url, with smart on and off page SEO applied to rank in each case, not from working on the home page or root domain. People typically expend that effort for sites they pay for, not for a free property. But if you work on building authority bysupplying serious content and backlinking for the bloggers, instead of still expecting the strong authority to be baked in (just because it's blogspot or wrdpress), you can rank for those blogs as well as you could for a paid domain.

They are still powerfull as hell. Just build a web 2.0 on "medium" it ranked on position 2 on serps in 3 days for 1 of the keywords without any backlinks. Hope that gives an idea.

The actual problem with web 2.0's are because they are not your property they can easily get deleted by the moderators. Other than that they still work really good sometimes better than your own site.

This reply here is correct. Infinity touched on the most important key aspects of SEO today:
- Relevant content.
- Niche relevant backlinks.
- Perfect on-page SEO.

The only key Infinity left out was social media relevancy/consistency. In today's internet marketing, an active/authoritative social media profile is rewarded with a minimal amount of juice.

True, but they are still very powerful tier 1 & 2's.

having your own domain is much better, you can still host blogger for free but make sure you have your own domain

blogger has a lot of power when it comes to getting massive traffic, positioning , ranking, ect

If blogger platform is not strong enough to rank well, Google would have killed it mercilessly. I would say that Blogspot is very strong to rank only if you consistently put unique content.

Check out the rankings of these blogger blogs: javarevisited.blogspot.com & studyrankers.com

People do, but you don't own your domain and the CMS hasn't evolved in years. So I don't think it's the best option unless you just want to test things and even then WordPress.com is a better free option.

Medium.com is a better option to see if there is a market for your content.
