Should I work on Seperate Blog or Aged Micro Niche?

I have an aged micro niche blog that is ranking on Google for several keywords. It has decent authority as well, I mean backlinks from good sites.
Now I want to target multiple keywords not related to the micro niche, would you recommend me to create a separate category for the keywords I want to target and publish articles or should I work on a separate blog?

Even if its not related to the niche the content would initially rank higher and will be easier to maintain there because of the pre-existing domain and website authority.

i guess it depends on how the overall website looks? It would be weird to see dog training tips on a heartburn website even if its ranking high if you get what i mean :)
 
I think it depends on da niche. If your site it's about cookie recipes and You want to start another categorie about cupcake recipes it wil fit, not the same if you're talking about cookies and jump into sex toys.
 
I agree with the other folks, it depends on how closely related the new articles will be to the current niche of your site. Because, let's not forget, topical relevancy is very important nowadays, and your site might rank based on its topical relevancy alone but if you dilute that relevancy by adding unrelated content well... you can figure for yourself what will happen :)

Let's take an example: app is a big niche, I am ranking for XYZ app. Now I am thinking about targeting ABC app, DEF app, FGH app etc. I hope you are getting my point. Kindly answer this is fine or not.

everything that you've mentioned is about apps, so yeah, it's a good idea because the new content will be extremely relevant to the existing content

PS: learn to use multi-quote or you'll get admonished by me or by mods :p

I think if the new keywords are non-related, do not take the risk you worked hard to reach this, so build a new blog

Well that makes a lot of sense i think You should be fine because it's like expanding your content but in the same Niche or categorie

You can do either of those. Depends on how much time you have for content creation. More content means you need to invest more time in writing and updating.

Content problem is not an issue at all for me. I spend most of the time writing content and less time on link building.
