The regular users still trust .com more than other extensions. When in doubt, always go with .com domain.

.com is pretty good to start for your business, if your websites have informational content you can consider .info too.

.com or .net are the standards, but you can use another national extension if you are not in America, it will not penalise you for anything.

Stay with .com if you can. It's cheap and better to sell. But if you have a great skill in SEO, any TLD domain doesn't matter. Good luck.
