Hey all,

I have tried to keep the title as precise and to the point as possible.

If you check my profile, you will see that I've been a part of this forum for ages, but was out of IM for a few years in between.

I am planning to get back into it through Shopify and Aliexpress dropshipping. The only bottleneck I am facing is the payment gateway. Paypal will hold the payment for 21 days I guess. Another thing, I have applied for the Canadian PR and most probably will be moving by March 2018. Considering all that, I would really appreciate if someone helps me with the questions/concerns below:

  • If i decide to go with Paypal, is it necessary to have a Pvt Ltd. Or a LLP firm registered?
  • Should I even go with Paypal or is there any better option
  • Can I run the whole store under my name or should it be shown as a business?
  • Should I wait untill I move to Canada and start from there? But I won't have a credit card or any credit over there as I will be a new migrant.
Thanks :)

Aliexpress takes ages to deliver the product. That IS a big blocker.

As for your questions (Am I eligible to answer? well I am not really a millionaire but I have worked for quite a few ecommerce companies over the years, so your call)

* Not necessary to register anything for that matter. Depends on the accout type you have. If you are having a merchant account, a PVT. LTD. would suffice.
* if you are selling to Indian customers, then paypal can't even process it. You will need another gateway. I suggest that you speak to ICICI and Axis bank staffs. They can provide you a gateway for very cheap prices. ccavenue is also an option if you can put some money as security deposit ( like 10k rupees, don't remember). For international transfers, I prefer paypal.
* That is totally possible if you are a sole proprietor. The business name will be your name in this case and you will be solely liable for the business. Speak to a CA for this.
* Not sure how cold Canada is, but I would prefer a colder weather personally. Nothing else matters to me lol.

Edit: As for point number 4, I think you can still have a credit card anywhere you want, even if you migrate to there. Speak to the bank.
