Keeping that quiet for a week or so until I can get it ranked etc 
There is no point - I'm simply making a place for myself and others to track my new site, then maybe in the future I'll tell people how I did it? I dunno, it's the lounge, do I need a point?

You bought the domain, designed/developed the website, and had it go live and it received 700+ UV's in the first day? I take it you were using social media promotions?

social media , especially FB ,,, Join as many groups ans you can either related to your niche or target Teens , and then in each group make a new status and you are ready to go
That is a great way to get attention to a website/facebook page. Yes.

I think you might find the traffic tapers off as you saturate your channels. If it doesn't, I'd like to hear more about your strategy.
