Server locations and search engine rankings

We all know server location is important for ranking in specific locations but i've noticed this seems to be less of an issue on Yahoo or Bing. Has anyone else noticed this before?

It's only one of many signals, I wouldn't treat it with to much importance.

I don't think it's too much of an issue, and if you do find that you want results to appear more in a different country. [Though this will lower all your other results] you can go into webmaster tools and change your country which does have a bigger impact with the rankings in the country you chose.

I use all my servers from Canada and I appear very high in US and United Kingdom searches, so I do not see a significant issue

Server location is immaterial for local rankings. If you get a geographic domain name hosted in any part of the world, it will rank on the basis of its tld which you could change via webmasters to rank anywhere you like.

I've hosted UK sites on USA hosting and also on other international hosts and ranked them with no problems.

Make sure you have a solid SEO plan, locations don't matter as much but they do help with site speed as said above!
