My site is scoring amazingly well for some KW big G thinks apply to my site that do not or I did not expect. I actually outrank a simmilar named Casting call business. I am not in casting call niche, haha. So what I am asking is there a way to see what I am ranking for with big G that I am not aware of? Some are bizare word combos I never guessed people would search for! I figure the more I can figure I am "natuarly" ranking for I can drive it home.

Notes:

All my on site SEO looks good

I still need to make it look better (As time permits)

Primary product (3 million comp) Google = invis (Eternal link building in progress)

Secondary products (906k comp) #27 & # 35 (No seo to promote yet)

So far all White Hat

SERPS and SEO are such strange beast

Have you tried Market Samurai? That is a fantastic piece of useful SEO and Keyword Research software that will help you analyze your sites. I think it's available in the downloads.

Other than that, it could simply be something to do with Google's update, or natural Backlinks you're getting / have done. SEOmoz has loads of free and powerful tools you can use to analyze your website to see how it's performing etc.

Other than that, as mentioned above, Google Webmaster Tools can be a great place!

Hope that helps!
:D

other than google webmaster tools, your hosting company will also offer a analytic service, sometimes free of cost which will tell you the top 25 keywords that generate traffic to your site for example.

some analytic companies charge only a very small fee and show you things like heat maps, i.e, where exactly users click on your website and so on. It might be a smart investment that will serve you with more than one use.

Up 3 positions for my secondary products. Almost to page 2!
Primary is still lost at sea.
Checked Google WM tools, Shows what searches have found me and outdated guestemates of my position. Had another bizarre Google search find me. Amazing what some people type into big G!

Ok, time to crack the whip and start making more links!

good job. um Google webtools helps. I use MS if i know what keywords to search for to check rank though.

Just made it to #15 P 2 on big G! Still the secondary but it proves backlinking works. Only been able to do about 10 links a day though. I am guessing from here it will get harder to compete with the other 906k pages. Or am I mistaken on this thought?

Ok looks like I am hitting resistance at position 14. #1 to 13 are old sites PR 3 to PR 0. One of my competitors has 87k backlinks from 100 IP. That seems like a waste of backlinks. Am I wrong on that? Most of them have very few quality backlinks.

So far I have over 350 backlinks created from 220 sources. About 20 high quality and the rest are a mix from around the world. Anchors where I can get away with it.

Since I cant rank for my prefered item I plan to rank on my secondary items and worry about the 800 pound gorillas later. Reasonable plan?

Hey, the heat map idea sounds very interested. Can you give some examples that use this?
