What 'tactic' were you using?

I'm not worried about getting banned because I'm not going to try to inflate clicks or traffic, just simple ranking for carefully chosen niches and keywords.

They said my sites were "made for Adsense". And that was the tactic in general.

Nice post regarding keyword research seocrab. I'll add something just to help some people. If you see any forum threads or web 2.0 pages (e.g., domain.blogspot.com, domain.wordpress.com, squidoo pages, hubpages etc) on the first page, then that's usually a good sign that you can rank for that keyword. The logic behind this is that nobody is trying to rank a forum thread and web 2.0 pages are usually used as second or third tier sites to link to your main site and, thus, aren't trying to be ranked either. Also if you see any article directories (e.g., ezinearticles, goarticles etc), then the keyword is probably good to rank for.

Just remember to do all of the other stuff like backlink checking and so on that seocrab mentioned as well even if you see sites like this so that you're sure you can rank.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what that means but if you're going to buy an SEO service for an AdSense site that risks your own account, it's best to do some research beforehand to avoid getting it banned.

I think it was in reference to them having a hunch that the sites were set up specifically to game Adsense.

In any event, I will just await your next report and hopefully I will be able to replicate what you do without putting my account at risk again! Thanks for the info once more.

Just to clarify, are you creating individual pages for each keyword or are you creating posts?

Time to get a site built so it's onto STEP 2:



So there are 3 types of domain I could use:

1. Fresh new domain (never previously registered)
2. Expired domain (needs registering as new, but it has history)
3. Aged domain (has history and age)

All 3 have different benefits, but for this AdSense site, I'm going with option 2 for speed and cost reasons (expired domains are cheap to register and you don't have to wait for auctions to finish or GoDaddy to process your order etc).

Finding An Expired Domain

To find the right expired domain for my niche AdSense site, I will use the site ExpiredDomains.net.

Register for a free account, then select 'Deleted .com' domains (I always pick .com wherever possible). I then filter the results to remove fake PR results and add a general niche keyword "bike" to get some niche-related results:



This gives me a nice list of bike domains, which can be sorted by PR or backlinks:



Here, I'm looking for a clean site with a bit of PR, maybe some PA and MozRank.

Scrape the first 200 results from ExpiredDomains.net and paste into a bulk metrics checker such as: http://www.bulkseotools.co.uk/seo-combine-tools-package-one-page/



As you can see in the above screenshot, I found a domain with PR2, PA17, DA5 (depotdaybikerally.com) and another with PR1, PA19, DA7 (brilliantbike.com).

I prefer brilliantbike because it's shorter, brandable and not spammy.

Checking domains

Given the low DA scores, these domains do not have many backlinks. But, they have a little juice from whatever content used to be hosted on them.

I'm going to take a look to make sure it's not completely off-topic/adult/spammy before purchasing.

1. Check domain history on archive.org



Nothing much there, but it's on-topic. Excellent.

2. Check that the domain is indexed on Google, by searching for:

site:domain.com or info:domain.com



You want the domain to be indexed (this shows it has not been penalised by Google). You can also check the cached page (this should match archive.org's records).

3. Check existing backlinks

As suspected, this site does not have any visible backlinks in ahrefs or opensiteexplorer. To double-check, I ran it through smallseotools.com/backlink-checker and got the following:



Nothing exciting or spammy, just a few social links and domain listings.

4. Check availability

You might want to do this step earlier to save time!



Try and find a $0.99 voucher or registration offer to get a discount. It's important to use Whois protection to protect your new site so look for a deal that offers that too.

And that's it! For $0.99 I now have a clean, brandable domain with a little weight, ready for a new Wordpress AdSense site.

I realy have to look into adsense, but SEO is not that easy aspecial if you try it with on-page SEO only. maybe you can give me some tips on that

You could just select it, like normal text and paste in excel. Then just copy first column it to bulkseo, 3 sec job

Really like the way you are describing everything, it is great for beginners and. When you are choosing keyword do you have some local search limit (like prefer not to go over 2000)? Does every article title (from longtail keywords) contain main keyword? Do you create some categories and do you think they could help in ranking?

200 times? That would take waaaay too long! Just copy/paste the scraped data into excel, then copy just the domain column and paste it in the metric analyser site.
