seocrab's AdSense journey to $500/month

I've had a couple of successful journey threads about ranking sites:

- whitehat ranking a new site on Page 1 in 14 days:

This time, I want to focus on making cold, hard cash by ranking sites and monetising with AdSense.

Why AdSense?

a) it's lucrative (there are lots of advertisers, more added each day).
b) it's good for long-term income (once site is established, the money pours in without much effort)
c) good re-sale value (sites with nice income records can be flipped for $$$s)

Why $500/month?

a) decent amount of extra income for most people
b) achievable by working just a few extra hours a week

I'm going to go through every stage, from building sites to getting an AdSense account, so it'll be newbie-friendly.

Here is the plan:

STEP 1: Keyword Research, finding a lucrative AdSense niche
STEP 2: Domain Research, buying an SEO-ready domain for fast ranking
STEP 3: Site Building, creating and customising a Wordpress theme, optimising for AdSense
STEP 4: Content Creation, adding optimised content for keyword ranking
STEP 5: Link Building, getting sites ranked for keywords
STEP 6: Adding AdSense, applying for AdSense, adding code to sites
STEP 7: Income Tracking, optimising for CTR, geo-targetting

STEP 8: Rinse and repeat - keep starting again with new sites/keywords to build the portfolio

Resources:

- some cash, will try to keep spending on each site below $100 depending on keyword difficulty
- software (Scrapebox, nohandsseo). Will consider getting more software if necessary
- proxies and a VPS (for running software, creating accounts etc)
- good knowledge of SEO, wordpress design and content writing
