I'm going to start a project using a YouTube Channel with Short-mid length videos and shorts. Haven't had much experience with YouTube so I don't really know where to start. What's the best methods for YouTube SEO?

i don't think keyword stuffing is still working - try to just have a good title and spend time in making a very good thumbnail , but consistency is key in youtube

Thanks for the advise, do any type of backlinks hold much ground these days with youtube.

Hey bro, it can be a good way, if you find a good niche. I tried Shorts and put some videos into it, in the first 7 days I reached 5k views. But after it, my channel has been deleted. It is a good sign if you choose a good niche without a copyright claim.

Just try and see how it's going. Good Luck!

You should concentrate on a regular content schedule for 6 months, learn about what the search does for you. I don't know how well backlinks for youtube work, never tried them. But compared to being found via recommendations which is very big, if you can narrow in on similar title videos, its not required I think. My todo list is long enough to procrastinate on testing this so called fact for a while! :D

But at least if you focus on your content first, and you have videos up with a substantial amount, you can work with backlinks later. Assets first. Marketing later. Don't get them mixed up, or you'll be in tech debt!

Thanks for the information, I'm going to make niche related content for at least 2 months before I look into backlinks

You could dive into niches like MMA
Those shorts blow up like crazy

Very true I've seen them everywhere recently with re-uploaded tiktoks, not sure if they still work as well though. I was going to try and do something with AM so I might try the marketing niche.

I’ve seen a trend with embedded videos getting more traffic. If you have your own website, make a blog post around the video subject and embed it in there.

Thanks this sounds like a good idea, ill look into this

Was it tik tok videos you used in the shorts?

First, conduct keyword research first, then choose adequate keywords with good reach potential, work on the titles of your videos and implement keywords in the, add tags to videos to reach a wider audience, take care about descriptions and make them SEO-friendly as well, create transcriptions and captions, engage with profiles from other people and connect with them.

Hi,

Try to use the following:

  • Optimizing your channel at the first place: branded url, good description about your brand, profile & cover imagers, good primary trailer/video about your brand, watermarks, etc.
  • Use your original content in videos, don’t steal.
  • Thumbnails: make an attractive thumbnail for each video
  • Subtitles: from my experience I can tell you that videos with subtitles get more views and engagement.
  • Attractive titles: first of all, do a keyword research (ahrefs youtube keyword explorer, youtube searchbox autocomplete, etc.). Do not stuff keywords in your title, choose one and make an attractive title. For example: How to Gain Youtube Followers in 2022 – Best methods to grow from 1 to 10000 followers in one month.
  • Descriptions: write overall description for each video. Write contact details if needed (customer support, etc). If there are some credits to give – it’s important to mention them and tag them. If you put links, do not put them in the 1st 3 rows and use bit.ly or something. It looks better than long links.
  • Use chapters (timestamps for each significant part in the video). It looks like that:
00:00 What are Youtube video chapters

00:42 How to make Youtube video chapters.

  • Use hashtags: you can use up to 3 hashtags related to your video.
  • Use tags: unlike the hashtags, youtube users can not see the tags, but you can signal Youtube your niche & topic. Use the tags from keyword research.
  • Know your audience: first, make your content to fit your audience. Second, chose age limits, mark if the content is good for children or not.
  • Encourage your audience to make an interaction – to comment. Videos with comments get more impressions.
  • Build playlists.
  • Share your videos on social media and invite people to watch your content and to comment their thoughts about it.
  • Try to avoid buying views.
This is the basis to start with. Good luck!

Thanks for the response, does keyword research work similar to google. Are there any youtube specific tools to use.

If you do not have a good amount of subscribers you must have to buy views, comments etc if you want your video to blow up! Unless your video is a viral video about some current major topic. Even the top major recording artists buy views for their new released music videos for them to blow up.

Might try this, Thanks for the reply. does youtube use any algorithms to detect this and do they penalize similar to google?
