Hi guys, I am thinking to move my site from shared hosting to the Vultr server. Apart from this, I'll also changing the current theme either to Kedance or Generatepress.
The main thing I want is to redesign/restructure the current layout to the new one.

Old layout: Homepage --> 3-5 supporting articles (blog posts).
New layout: Homepage --> Subtopic (Build pages on categories topic and then redirect categories URL to category pages) --> Supporting articles (related to that particular subtopic).

Kindly suggest me which theme will be better for this purpose. Secondly, after shifting to the new layout, will I lose rank or it will improve? I don't want to lose my current rankings.

Reason of moving from Shared Hosting to VULTR:

1. Shared hosting (slow speed and core web vitals issue)
2. I found some sites on my shared hosting server are adult niche related which might hurt my long term blog later.
3. I want silo kinda structure on my blog. Not only it will be easier for user to navigate but also pass link juice from homepage to all pages of website.
4. Another question got into my mind, When I redirect category pages to subtopic page
xyz.com/category/topic redirecting to xyz.com/topic/
should I index or index category from settings?

Kindly give your valuable suggestion.

if you are tech savvy, I definitely recommend generatepress. It is amazing in speed and giving you solid web-vital scores.

I love Generatepress and have bought the premium license. Thanks for giving suggestion about the theme. Can you please answer my other queries as well?

The hosting upgrade will help increase the sitespeed, so it's good for seo. Also, no need to index the category pages in google. For the redirect, just regenerate the sitemap once you changed the permalink and resubmit it to gsc.

Thanks for replying bro, I have unticked the option to show categories in the sitemap. As you suggested, I will submit the permalinks after redirection.

After doing redirections of category pages to subtopic pages and shifting to silo structure. I have got natural backlinks from high-authority sites and already ranking on the first page of google for many keywords. How much time it will take to see improvement in rankings?

You may see improvement after your site recrawled by google.

Bro, I am confused about one thing. One of the blog post is ranking for keyword XYZ and this keyword comes as subtopic in silo structure. Should I keep it as a blog post or move to Page. Will Google decrease my rankings if i move ranked articles to silo pages. Kindly answer this

You can do one thing without affecting your ranking or page down: copy your website to another domain or subdomain, block all robots (use the WordPress setting to discourage search engine visibility), and change the design, since sometimes design work takes a long time to complete. After completion, you can move the website. Thats the perfect way.

I have already redesigned whole blog in silo structure except one blog post. It should be a silo page but that specific blog post is ranking on top and has good number of backlinks. Worried about loosing ranking if I change post to page keeping same permalink. Kindly answer regard this thing

It is not losing, since Google knows your permalink, and you have changed the post to page and used the same permalink structure as before, you are not losing, considering that nowadays 301 redirects are used to forward traffic from another domain.

GeneratePress is definitely a speedy theme and available for free in the member download section by @RoiBox

For super fast experience, use Vultr HF servers + Choose Cyber Panel to create the instance (Cyber panel is just like cPanel that comes with OpenLiteSpeed server, faster than Apache and Nginx ) it will be easier for you to use hosting

@Kinu Actaz Yup I shifted to VULTR HF server and setup using Cyberpanel. My site score is 100 on older theme and if I use generatepress it still has 100 score. I have premium Generatepress already. Also core web vitals issue is fixed, all scores green. BTW changing the theme can impact Google AdSense earnings or not?

and thank you for answering

It may loose ranking as you changing the permalink and structure. I recommend add a short article on that newly created page and link this blog post from that, so you can keep this blog post as it is.
