SEO will not be dead, if it is then no one is ranking anymore.

For those that didn't know what the image was it was someone searching in Google and Google giving an answer to the question based on their AI. No this won't kill SEO. Most people will either ignore that prompt or just click on one of the top SERPs for more info.
 
There are lots of changes coming to the serps. You can check here what they are going to do with google ads and the serps in general:


Basically SEO will lose its traffic share and SEA will gain more which leads to Google making even more money!
 
if SEO 'died' (not saying it will) wouldnt that basically mean websites have to just build audiences in a fair organic way? Isnt that better?
 
SEO isn’t dead. Each update dilutes the competition by flushing out already established sites from their SERPs.
