[SEO case study] Rank for a few keywords using a free domain

Hey,

I will be using a free domain to prove that no money is needed to rank with SEO. Though I will be using some tools, but they can easily be substituted with other free tools or tools shared here, I will also try to list the alternatives. Also, I'll try to keep this thread updated as much as possible.

Keywords: So far I found two easy keywords with an average ppc of $1.5+, 1000+ global searches,and less than 100,000 competition (exact). Moreover I'll try to find more keywords as most of these keywords are related

Monetization: I will be using google adsense as soon as I get accepted ( easiest monetization for newbies like me), meanwhile I will try to rank my site so I don't lose anytime waiting for adsense.

Tools:

1. Scrapebox: Will be used to blast Web 2.0 properties,articles etc..
Alternatives: "Comment Blaster New" Can be found in the download section.

2. Spinnerchief: Will be used to spin my content.
Alternatives: You can use the free version of Spinnerchief.

3. Market Samurai: Will be used to find keywords, value competition and track my rankings.
Alternatives: You can use the free trial.

Will post more tools I will use in later posts.

What I will be doing: First I'll ping and bookmark any posts I write to get them indexed, then I will build web 2.0 properties, write articles, make videos, post pictures etc. Using spinned content from Spinnerchief and bookmark and ping them. Then I will blast them with Scrapebox and any other tools while still bookmarking them. I will also try to use some social buzz such as twitter, facebook etc. I will keep doing this constantly until my site ranks.

I will be using link pyramids mainly, with some web 2.0 not linked to the pyramid.

Installed wordpress and a theme, will be writing content now to post on the site.

Article posted, now ranking for 2 keywords in the top 500. Starting to build links to site.

Update: Ranking now for 2 keywords in top 100 after creating only 10 web 2.0s, bookmark them and blast them with scrapebox, Going to repeat this again while linking also to my web 2.0s previously created.

Update: Ranking in the top 50 now, Tweeted links of the site, Some more social bookmarking and some web 2.0.

Nope since my adsense account didn't get approved yet,am just currently working on my rankings.

Update:Moved up the rankings even more,Also now ranking for a very broad keyword in the top 500.

Interresting is it .co.cc domain ?

Nope, it's a free sub domain.

Update:One of the keywords is ranking in the 2nd page and am starting to get organic traffic, will write another article with other keywords to rank for now, while still focusing on building some web 2.0s to my page.

u mean .blogspot or .wordpress etc right? actually want to know the exact service you are using to get subdomain.

Many people do with that by Blogspot and Wordpress.It is not new.........

Neither, It's a site that gives out some free hosting using subdomains. Search for "free hosting" and you should get a long list, pick out the best and go for it, but make sure the subdomain is not penalized or removed from search like .co.cc.

Update: I scraped some keywords related to my ranking keywords and fed them into rank tracker and market samurai, Seems like am ranking for some other keywords too in the top 50.

Update: Am going through a bit of a google dance these days,rankings changing every few hours, am gonna try out to use autoblog web 2.0s and add them to the pyramid, that way I can automate most of the work.

So I guess this isn't working very well so far? I realize you've only been at it a short time, but it seems that it can't be nearly as profitable as a real domain.

I don't understand why you say "it can't be nearly as profitable as a real domain". this test began 1 week ago, and he saw his website near the 2nd page already. For me as right now, everything work fine. Thanks OP for the test.

Update: Set up 3 auto blogs,2 on blogger and 1 on a subdomain using wordpress, you can find an autoblog software for blogger and wordpress in the download section of the forum, it's called "Auto Blog Samurai". Now giving them a social boost by bookmarking the home page and inner pages multiple times,this will allow them to get indexed as fast as possible.

Edit: Again there is no cost for any of the tools or for SEO.
