SEO beginner help needed

Hi there,

I'm very interested in getting into SEO stuff and getting pages to top ranks on Google. I've done a bit of research on BHW and I've realized that Scrapebox is a tool to help get you too that point but I have some questions for all you geniuses. I understand SEO is a tool to achieve this but in theory, what is trying to be achieved to get us to the top of the ranks? backlinks? forum posts? I'm just confused...are there any guides you can point me to? Also is Xrumer similar to Scrapebox?

How quickly can you get page ranks to the top on a very low competition keyword using something like scrapebox? is there any method used to achieve this through scrapebox?

But for sure you should use mix of all the SEO tools available (backlinks, articles, forum posts, scrapebox and so on). It's like with investments... diversification (of methods) is the golden rule.

I saw that post but were the results ever posted?

SB and Xrumer are great tools if used properly. Many people just spam out links without any thought behind what they are trying to accomplish. These are just 2 tools among many.

In my opinion, they are great tools but they need to be used with other SEO techniques for them to really shine. You will get much more ranking and staying power with solid contextual links and link networks surrounding your site.

I would suggest, before diving into a program like scrapebox, that you gain a better familiarity with backlinking as a way to increase search engine rankings. Like jarjar said, there are many different methods of gaining backlinks, scrapebox is one that centers around automating blog commenting.. there are other ways, too, like Jericho said about contextual links within articles placed in web2.0's. If you are confused right now, then it would be best to read, learn, and do some stuff by hand before trying any complex tool - owning an industrial duty reciprocating saw will do you no good if you don't know what it is you are trying to accomplish with it. :smash:

This is really solid advice. When I was first starting out I had a friend of mine "mentoring" me, and he explicitly advised against me using any automated tools until I learned how to do alot of stuff by hand first. Then I was introduced to the world of SB, and man, I dont know what was the better purchase: SB, or MS.
