First of all, I apologize if this is not the correct forum for email marketing, but I could not find a more appropriate category and when I searched "email marketing" all previous posts were in White Hat SEO. Admins please feel free to move this post if necessary.
Over the last 5 years I've organically amassed what I consider a VERY LARGE list of emails in a specific (profitable) niche, and I have mostly ignored using them for marketing purposes. I've also let about 500k emails slip through the cracks (my bad!). But now that I have a list of somewhere between 100k and 300k, I need to organize them by segments, clean the list and start marketing to them but I do have a few important questions, and would really appreciate some advice from anyone who has more experience in this field than I do.
1) What is an affordable list cleaning service you would recommend? Previous research leads me to believe mailget has the most affordable option, but I'm curious to hear what some of the experts are using and why.
2) I've never been a fan of mailchimp, but these options like aweber, constant contact, active campaign, etc. all appear to be waaaaay too expensive for a large list in the hundreds of thousands. So I have been looking at self-hosted platforms like Sendy utilizing Amazon SES to keep my costs low. I am curious if anyone has experience with Sendy, other platforms like it, and what recommendations (if any) one might make to a newbie on a budget trying to send out emails to a large list. What's my best bet for keeping things affordable and effective?
Thanks so much for any and all input!
