SAPE Finally Busted?

I think this is probably more to do with a Halloween related update/refresh more than anything.

But I ask you this: give me one example, just 1, from the last six months where Matt Cutts has actually been correct about anything SEO?

He says one thing, the SERPs tell a much different story.

I am pretty sure that sites which had 200-300 links from various sources and another 200-300 links from SAPE got hit. The way SAPE services was appearing every now and then forced me to take precautions. I even have a site that is getting 1k+ links from SAPE and SAPE-Like networks and it's holding a strong position @ #2 for a massively competitive keyword.

Here is what I found, plain and simple precautions -
  • Push SAPE links slowly. Do not use it on a 1 day-30 days old site.
  • Keep dripping links from various platforms and SAPE at the same time.
  • If you are aiming at getting 300 links from SAPE, send 150 links this month and 150 on the next month.
  • Diversify links from SAPE and SAPE-Like networks. Don't get too many links from foreign TLD's. Don't get too many homepage links. Mix with high PR and PR0 links.

Again, if half of your links are coming from high PR static sites it will surely get hit. If you can't wait for results, better leave SEO. Period.

I can also confirm this, 3 of my sites using SAPE links also got similar message.

Time to look into other networks.

Here is Matt Cutts Tweet:
Thinking of ghost-related puns for a spam network. "They try to look super natural, but using them will dampen your spirits.

Something to do with Ghost Rank?(A Popular SAPE Related BST)

And this tweet encapsulates everything that make Matt Cutts a fraud.

Sure, they are taking a look at Ghost Rank, big whoop. You watch Matt try to create a big fuss over SAPE and get as many people scared as possible.

If Fox News did this it would be called propaganda... and that my friends, is exactly what it is.

The worst thing is all the comments on his tweet. All those sheep drinking his bs up like chocolate milkshake.

% of a fuck given by me = 0
% of websites taken out by this discovery = 00000.00000.0000000.0000000.0000001

I even noticed 2 spam websites ranking for "payday loans" yesterday. This apparently is a niche they are manually reviewing?

Google's appetite for growth remains unabated, and they will continue their efforts to re-route all internet marketing dollars into their bank accounts. These efforts by Google are all intended to convert link buyers into Adwords users. I would hope that anyone who gets nailed by Google's bullshit will pull the plug on all of Google's products/services.

3 year old 100 page authority site got nailed yesterday after 1 month of sape links. Knew it was a bad idea.

Network is too big for them to crack. Sounds like your particular site just got caught. Hopefully it was churn and burn : )

Oh yes indeed.
I never expect my sites to live forever :)
You never know what big G is brewing in the back.

Why not use a buffer(web 2.0) when using Sape links?

I am also curious what is the people that are getting hit percent on anchor text diversity? This guy posted:

Had some of my "white hat" sites hit. Using a handful of guest posts and not much else.
Site with 30 links got hit with the same penalty. Looking at my other sites that definitely aren't white hat but have a much higher anchor text diversity I think one of their major triggers is >50% exact match anchors.

No all sites are fine. Matts Comments and the odd site being hit does not = end of Sape. Same thread every month by someone whose site has been hit. These threads get a little boring.

This ^

I've seen this thread sooo many times now since we first made the networks popular with Speed Rank, also Cutts has done these stupid vauge tweets in the past too and each time he does this shit he gets exactly the reaction he wants - threads, second guessing and panic... All part of the G propaganda machine.

I know first hand Google targets sape they take down sites all the time but it continues to grow so continues to work its been like this since the beginning thus replacing dropped links is a weekly routine. These messages have also been handed out to sites without Russian links and sites with them, heck didn't they send the BBC one of these a wile back and there was an uproar about it.

crusher hit the nail on the head and a few others here too nailed it, if your going to fire a load of Russian links at a site, cross your pretty little fingers and hope for magic then forget it, it will be short lived and your inviting a manual penalty from the offset! Those days are gone now they have been gone for some time tbf because Google is now well aware of the networks so has obviously set up some flags, If you have a decent enough link profile before hand and you continue to build other links wile then dripping your Russian links then you will be golden, its really simple - avoid raising any red flags like "an influx of just high pr links to a 0 link site" which would result in a manual review.

its only a matter of time which is why you shouldnt be using popular link networks on valuable sites. if its churnand burn then no big deal but dont be using sape on clients websites

Winner, winner charlie sean dinner!

50% honestly ?! ...

2 of my sites got a manual penalty today and they were using Sape and other Sape like networks, among many other things.
So I can't be sure what caused this.

Got an unnatural links warning 2 days ago, I presume due to SAPE links as I have not done any other link building for this site. I won't name the service used on BHW but I'm sure you can guess.

I guess you should understand the risks you take when purchasing such links but it seems their value has or is about to decline rapidly. Be warned!

What a fucking shit position to be in, saw no return from the links then they completely destroy all of your rankings.

Here is a fact, we do not see Matt for months on end typing into Twitter "Going To Have To Check Out Some Spam Blog Comments" Why? Because they do not work like Sape. He only has to check out what actually works. Many people will have great success with Sape, and others will see sites get hit which have used Sape.
