Hey Guys,

A lot of movement has been occurring around the forum regarding SAPE links.
Its no news that Google has been trying to shut SAPE down for some time now.
Has the time finally come? Is it time to move onto some underground link exchanges?

I got the Manual Action Message on one of my sites using SAPE. The classic unnatural links message.
I could care less. Its just another site that I churn and burn on a regular basis.

If you were using SAPE to powerup some Tier 1s then that should have safeguarded you to a certain extent, depending on how you used it.
If you did a direct approach it might have put a penalty.

Here is Matt Cutts Tweet:
Thinking of ghost-related puns for a spam network. "They try to look super natural, but using them will dampen your spirits.

Something to do with Ghost Rank?(A Popular SAPE Related BST)

If this is true it will become the Ultimate Neg SEO Tool. Point some SAPE links to random competitor and get it penalised?
I used SAPE from this forum but I will not out the owner for obvious reasons.
Have you gotten the penalty?
Here are reports of SAPE Related Penalties:

The links are rented... the penalty will expire after some time when you stop linking to your money site.

My links expired about a 1-1.5 weeks ago. I still got the penalty.
I havent seen any drops yet though.

Obviously they will never be able to shut the whole thing down, but they don't have to. They're hitting so many websites with penaltys that that it'll strike fear into site owners and make the risk not worth it.

I noticed the pun too, and thought back to that particular service. The problem is when a solid service comes to the fore and every man and his dog uses it.

It shouldn't be a problem getting out of the penalty; stop the subs, wait a month and they'll drop right off. Send in a recon request and it should work. But if people used them right, then it should just be churn and burn

The recent manual action notices have not been directly to SAPE users, it may seem so but just because the main people who are paranoid are the people who use them and post about it.

I have a friend who just had a really shitty moneysite spammed to death with GSA and two days ago he had the same thing.

A client of mine had one of his old sites slapped yesterday, he did use SAPE.

A testing site of mine that I spammed heavily (no SAPE whatsoever) also got it the same day.

Just a big wipe-out, not about SAPE.

If it was about SAPE directly, they wouldn't be fucking with regular sites at the same time, but it would be targeted to just SAPE users.

No all sites are fine. Matts Comments and the odd site being hit does not = end of Sape. Same thread every month by someone whose site has been hit. These threads get a little boring.

Yes it doesnt mean end of SAPE. SAPE is a really large network.
I am just saying that maybe Google is catching up and we have to look towards underground networks as SAPE cannot be considered a "secret" link network anymore.

Haven't seen anything, monitoring about 20 sites with sape links. Some of them are connected directly, some through pyramids.
OP, I've seen such threads every week on russian seo forums, sape isn't dead and, to my mind, will never be dead, some of sites get banned, yes, but webmasters just built another 10 and drop previous. The only problem is that google doesn't really bother them, and they don't care if they have bans from google.

Thanks for chiming in guys.

Yea personally I have also completed stopped using sape. It happened to me about a month ago. Just 2 weeks after all my sape links were up, I got unnatural link notice in GWT and site was penalized soon after. Not worth the risk anymore imho.

I got manual link penalty on 8 of my sites which were mainly on sape.

other 3 are still ranking well.

not sure what's happening but it won't be that easy to pull down sape

Well, what I can say!!: Google have algorithm to see if a site who was getting just Low Quality Links, Suddenly gets Good amount of PR 3,PR4 etc Links. They trigger the G-Radar and Site Gets a Email Alert to Remove Un-Natural Links. It is simple If I am Google I do the Same..1 site Gets Low Quality Links for whole Year or site live..and suddenly Even PR5 Links..Right You will get..
For Who not Agree No Offense..It is just my views. Who understand :Can try Plan like this Start with 2-5 PR 2, Sape for few days, and after 5-10 days Build PR4, etc. But Remember You have to Build Very Slowly like 5 Links Per day and start with Low PR's..with combined 200 Web 2.0 Per 5 PR2, or PR 3 and you Win..Sape is a Great Tool At this time too. But it is Must be Used with Tricks and Strategies..Because Google Manual Review Service or anything you try to get Recover from Google Penality Email you can not Recover even by Removing The Sape Links..To Recover Plan ..!!Act..Win!!

I have received the same message as a lot of you about unnatural link building and my links were definitely SAPE.

Sape has definitely been hit in some way.

My sites haven't moved yet (however I expect i will lose ranking in the next few days).

I am so pissed.
