Running a business without education

I think Education is necessary, either you are self-educated or paid for education.
You need to know what you are doing before offering services and that is called education.

In my experience, I remember 10 years ago, I was offering coding services as an agency for apps and stuff, but I didn't know programming architecture, using frameworks, proper use of databases, cache, and stuff. So I failed. So I had to study a lot working as a freelancer to get a proper education.

Anyway, it depends the niche you are on, cause if you were a pornstar fucking is just natural, but again, you had to educate yourself in a different perspective watching other models and what makes them famous.
Again... Education is necessary.

I used my business money to pay my way through college. I got half way through and decided I needed to put my energy and money into my business not classes so I stopped and kept working and building. I had so many friends who were struggling with Masters and Bachelors and I was like what am I doing this isn't me to follow the pack! I believe in networking and classes to learn things your interested in but they are NOT necessary!
 
You can educate yourself online, but going back to school is something I might do in the future. Perhaps a course or two in different things I actually like to do.

No need for a degree to create a business.
 
If you are able to educate yourself, then you are far better off than being taught IMO.

Another valuable thing to remember is that you probably won't get an education after you have started business. Be it laziness or lack of time, so might be better to just grind it out first.

What school did you go to? All I ever done was get punished for thinking "differently" in formal education 9/10 you have to conform and stick to the script to get ahead I think that's why most business owners tend to do well as they can think for them selfs.

Not sure what you mean about getting an education once you start a business - your always learning. If you are not learning your are not working. Just because it's not in a class room does not mean you are getting an education..


For me I done I shit in school, I went to college and done OK. I went to uni and I dropped out before graduating. I've made millions and lost millions. I don't think having a degree would have helped me make that money any differently or loose it any differently.

What I will say is "learning" isn't for everyone I'm not a paper, note taking, number crunching, learning from a book person. I need to get my hands involved and learn from my own trial and error and experience. I also think if education is applied to people differently it might have more of an impact. I failed my maths exam 8 times over I hated percentages and doing any kind of mathematics... As soon as I started to make money and needed to work out profit and loss my learning totally changed. And I can now count past 10 ;)

I always remember in school when you saw a guy resting a ladder by a wall and you had to work out the angle it was at... I could never under stand that I used to write "as long as I don't fall it don't matter" I've never had to calculate the angle when resting a ladder to a wall since and I've climbed and fallen off a few since...

I know it's just a visual example for them to help you learn calculating angles etc but it's a shit example for them to use.

Well said. I'm taking a ton of online courses, almost all GE courses and a ton of BA / BS degree programs are online and the degree doesn't look any different from the on campus degree.
 
If you think education is expensive, wait until you see what ignorance cost.
However, there are many forms of education, hell, you are educating yourself in here.

They dont teach you crap lol. Get into business and all you need to learn is online, more important then the education is the desire to educate yourself, and the drive to hustle.
A lot of people succeed in spite of their shortcomings bc they are driven and dont stop trying.

Learning about business? Hire an accountant. Pay your bills. Learn how to budget. Really its about recognizing your problems and the ability to find solutions.

Doesn't matter if they are dropouts, you just can't say that those who don't drop are failures in life.
Most of the big drop outs, they were studying in big educational institute where it is hard to get into.
So they were already ahead of us when intellectual level is concerned.

In a layman's term yes it is important that you complete your education. Why? Because your study will give you a base to atleast start something.
 
People often confuse 'education' (learning) with 'formal education (schooling).
I think we learn every day, whether we realise it or not.
